One more question, in the attached Image ,
(Ignore step-1 to step-4)
step-5 = Compressive load case
step-7 = Tensile load case
every step and increment of ABAQUS calculation is mapped to a particular number in FEMSITE (Fatigue simulation software 1 to 31),
Is this what you were explaining...
Hi FEA way
Thanks for the response. I was looking for this answer.
Can you please elaborate on the dataset sequence loading and specifying the range of increments ?
Suppose I have two steps in ABAQUS calculation.
Step -1 has say 10 increments.
Step-2 has 7 increments.
How do I go about...
Hi, thanks for the response
I am using FEMSITE but its similar to FE-SAFE.
In my model, there are contacts, and hence there is a good amount of plastic deformation in the model, we can say global plasticity.
So in such a case if I do a non-linear FEA calculation (IN Abaqus) then what are the...
I wanted to do a fatigue analysis. The initial stresses I obtain is above the yield limit. There is non-linearity due to contacts and plasticity. I have few queries as below.
Stress Based Approach
For high cycle fatigue I am using a (S-N) approach because the linear stresses are below 70% of...
Load time history (positive and negative load signal) is the random signal that is given for fatigue calculation. This signal will be converted to different classes using rain flow cycle counting method . Each class will have a stress amplitude and mean stress which will be used for fatigue...
Hello all,
I have seen a case where while doing a fatigue calculation of an axle ball pin the load time history is divided into positive and negative signals. There is contact non linearity as well, since the ball pin will be in contact with an insert and will have a complex stress state...
Hello all
I have a case in ABAQUS calculation where I applied the load on a bracket (bracket is attached to a frame, and bracket and frame are welded together), there is plastic deformation after loading on the frame. After unloading, the plastic strains are increasing on the frame. But as per...
Hello all
I would want to write the sectional forces in 2D shell elements of a specific section in my model.
How do I request the same in ABAQUS.
*SURFACE, NAME=sectional_forces_nodes, TYPE=NODE
sectional_forces_nodes, 1.
*SECTION PRINT, NAME= section_SF, SURFACE=...
Hello,
I had a general question.
I have a frame and a bracket, bracket is mounted onto the frame.
Case - 1
When load is applied on the bracket, it buckles at 45 kN.
Case - 2
I initialized plastic strains on the frame (not on the bracket) using *initial conditions,
Now, when load is applied...
No @FEA Way,
I do forming simulation in a different software, converts the output of forming simulation to LS Dyana format and in ANSA I merge the LS Dyna file with ABAQUS input file and then do the Plastic strain and thickness mapping.
But, there is no question of mapping here as the mapping...
Thanks for the reply @SWComposites.
Yes there is a drop in thickness.
So I tried three cases
--> only thickness data from forming mapped - model A
--> only plastic strains from forming mapped - model B
--> no data mapped on model - model C
When I did the simulation for three cases
model A...
Hello All
In my ABAQUS simulation, I initialize the model with plastic strains and thickness data from forming simulation and use this data for buckling load simulation in ABAQUS.
When I do the buckling load simulation, the model in which plastic strains and thickness data is initialized shows...
