at the time of construction it was actually lifted up 4cm. and now its 7cm down
i have a cantilever slab that is 1 year old. its span is 2.2m. it has already shown a deflection of 7 cm.
when does deflection become too dangerous? and a sign of failure?
SRC concrete (Sulfate resistant concrete ) is mixed using type 5 cement ( High sulfate resistant cement)
Now, type 5 cement reacts slower than type 1. because of the lower C3A content.
Doesn't that mean that SRC concrete will take longer time to reach the strength that OPC concrete will reach in...

i don't believe it is manufactured for use on Rebars, i think it is manufactured for use on other steel. like metal equipment or something.
but contractors use it without thinking

i realise that little rust is even better as it enhances bond
my main concern is this material, i see a lot of contractors using it. it leave a layer on steel and on concrete in the construction joint.

i noticed that some people use a chemical rust remover on Rebars.
is that Allowed?
it leaves a white phosphate coating on the rebar! and that coat sometimes get to Concrete in the construction joint!
i noticed that ACI didn't explicitly addressed this work practice.
any thoughts?
Here were I work,
We are used to pouring a 10 cm plain concrete layer below footings. It's also required to be 10 cm wider in every direction. We do it under isolated footings, strip footings... almost under all types of footings.
Is it required by ACI? and what is it's role?

so you believe it is not that dangerous? do you think its possible to procced without doing an analysis to consider the openings? or is it necessary to hold untill doing the analysis?
the superiors are worser. you might say that i am in the middle of people who are engineers by name only. they lack knowledge, and because of that they don't see the dangerous consequences of what they do.
so if you can be of any help, plz.
No i am not the structural engineer, but i don't trust my structural engineer. his instructions are to just go ahead and cut the steel as the dome is already lifting its self ( i have no idea what he means by that, may be he means that the concrete alone is enough ).
