Our mechanical department needs a "home" indicator that allows repeatable alignment to .001" automatically. I remember some optical devices using Moire patterns that were a lot better than that; but that was a long time ago.
Oh yes, we are fairly cheap (err.. inexpensivly...
tomramey,
Thanks, but the resolution doesn't seem adequate. The design reminds me of an idea I had to make a 0 pressure drop flow meter using a higher order control loop to drive a pump just so that the pressure drop around the pump was zero. I envisioned a smooth spiral type of rotor.
Never...
Rocco8,
We used the Matrix Impact2

Good enough. Go back up to

to find other things; automated ... etc.

This might seem dumb, but in a previous job we just measured the weight of the tank + gas. Couldn't you just continously weigh the tank in the hospital? This avoids the specialized equipment you need when measuring and regulating pure oxygen.

Hopefully somebody will suggest a "off the shelf" commercial module. In case they don't I can try to help later. If you start trying to do it yourself use an optically triggered SCR or TRIAC module rated for this apllication. There are serious safety and reliability concerns. For...
I don't know either the Industry or application you are working on; but PLEASE don't proceed without getting professional advice. It sounds like you are in an area where the safety and legal issues are hazardous.

Hi, should follow the advise in the application note; but
there are some things to consider. Check your system with a "known" input over a long period of time. Almost all systems will exhbit 1/f noise. Self-calibrating systems should move the 1/f knee out beyond 6 months. You will...
I have a need for a flow meter that can measure water: 3nL/pulse, 1 pulse per second, so that the accumulated accuracy for 30nl is better than .3 nL.
Any suggestions? We are trying weighing with a pecision scale but the water keeps evaporating. I can control the evaporation, but would prefer...
