CATIA: importing data with excel macro (problem)

Hello L3munoz, No, I never did sort out the problem. After many fruitless attempts, I used a different macro I found on the internet, and that did the trick. I'd be happy to send it to you (can't remember the website...) if you like. I'd also be very interested to hear it, if you do find a...

    Aft swept wing loading

Thanks for your reply. Wouldn't that mean that the resulting aerodynamic force acts at a point further aft, in which case the rear part of the wing box would in fact be more loaded? (what do you mean by "the couple opposing the normal force on the front spar and summing on the rear spar"?)

    Aft swept wing loading

I'm sorry, I didn't phrase the question very well... I did mean what Andries said, i.e. that the stresses developing along the rear spar (not the edge!!) are larger. Thanks a lot for the explanation Andries, it makes sense now! Regards, George

    Aft swept wing loading

Quick question: I understand that in aft swept wings the load is higher on the inboard portion of the trailing edge than on that of the leading edge. Whilst this intuitively makes sense, I can't really explain to myself why and would be thankful for clarifications. I am also unsure whether this...

HyperMesh, assigning beam cross-section/ creating bar

I am modelling an aircraft wing and trying to assign a cross-section (standard T) to the stringers in the skin, originally modelled as lines. My question is, how do I position/orient the beams properly? Firstly: as the panel skin isn't "plane", how I can ensure that the cross-section is...

CATIA: importing data with excel macro (problem)

The excel file is included in the CATIA "package", under intel_a/code/command. I have tried with both R19 and R20 (on different pcs) and and obtained the same error message.

CATIA: importing data with excel macro (problem)

Yes, I'm trying to import points (x,y,z coordinates). Ideally I'd like to get a spline directly, but even just the points would be good...

CATIA: importing data with excel macro (problem)

Hello, I know this topic has been dealt with ad nauseam, but I am unable to import data from excel. Every time I attempt to run the macro (from GDS_PointSplineLoftFromExcel) I get the following error message: "Object does not support this property or method". Does anyone know what the problem...

    Ansys solid modelling, symmetry

Thanks for your support, I got there in the end, with a bit of trying:)

    Ansys solid modelling, symmetry

I have only just begun teaching myself Ansys, and am somewhat stuck on my first solid/3D model: How would I go about creating a model of a cube containing a spherical cavity on the inside? Is there a way of subtracting one volume from another? Also, if I want to take advantage of symmetry and...

Aircraft: floor beams design and connection to frame

I'm trying to "lay out" the floor support beams of an aircraft and their connection to the frame and am slightly at loss, never having done anything similar before. Firstly, the only type of connection I know of are rivets, and most other ideas seem unlikely to work(welding, screws etc). Are...
