    Two horizontal breaks

I'm a programmer by trade and all i ever do is: int i; i = i + 1; I'm glad to see other engineers are not so slack with their gra 'mm' ar and spelling. Thanks for the google spell checker info.

    Two horizontal breaks

And, just to think, I double checked the post....:-D!

    Two horizontal breaks

Hi, Just to square the books: 1) My point about 'does solid works 2005 have the feature?' inferred that, if it did, I was doing something wrong since they (solidworks) would not have dropped a feature. 2) 'Second hand' means I did not purchase the software new from a supplier and I can't get...

    Two horizontal breaks

I don't espect anyone has 2006 sp0 (second hand) so the answer is, does 2005 definately have the feature or not? Ummmm .... pretty basic stuff though!

    Two horizontal breaks

Thanks to all. I have SW2006 SP0. This is a pretty basic function and I'm supprised its not been in for years. It just doesn't let me add more than one of the same type?!?

    Two horizontal breaks

I have a model that is over 2m long. I want to put 2 horizontal breats in it for a 2D diagram. I only seem to be able to put one in......am I missing something or can I not put 2 or more breaks into the view of the model?

How to but a bend into a peice of angle iron

Flex looks like the thing.....I'm having trouble getting it to flex along the flat of the angle iron and not the apex of the angle iron but the functionality certainly looks like what I want.... Thanks to all for their posts....

How to but a bend into a peice of angle iron

Hi, I have made a piece of angle iron from some sheet metal with a sketched 90 bend. All very simple..... I now want to bend the angle iron round a radius. Easy I thought....just put a nother stetched bend in ....set the radius and voila..........but you guessed it 'the computer says no'...

Equations and distance mates in an assembly

Hi All, Sorry for not coming back on this thread and thanks for all the comments (I've been away). I still can't get a distance mate to use equations. If I try an equation name in the distance value box solid works says 'no'. Is there a specific method. I can use equations in a part but not in...

Equations and distance mates in an assembly

Agreed, however they aren't but they can be.... Can equations not be used in distance mates?

Equations and distance mates in an assembly

Hi, I have a situation that is easily described. Consider a flat bar that is centered in the middle of another flat bar along the long dimension. I have various configurations varying the length of the longer bar. I want the position of the smaller bar to always be in the center of the longer...

How to add a weld to a flat face and the side of a tube?

I got it to work.....you can't select all the faces of the cube that coincide with the tube....I had to add two seperate welds to get it to weld all the way round the cube.......if you understand what I mean..... Thanks all for the comments. Charles

How to add a weld to a flat face and the side of a tube?

It's in an assembly Menu -> Insert -> Assembly Feature -> Weld bead... Charles

How to add a weld to a flat face and the side of a tube?

Hi, I can't seem to add a weld between a flat face of a box to the side of a tube. The flat face is coincident with the side of a circular tube but none of the welds seem to go...Does anyone have any ideas? yours Charles Durrant

    Real world v SolidWorks

Scott, Thanks for having a look. I'm running a second hand copy of SP0 and I have no errors. Also the parallel mate is not really required as the other mates infer the hinges being parallel. So I'm left with two seperate configs.... Am I just imagining it or should it really be able ro have...

    Real world v SolidWorks

Flores, Still no joy. The holes on the hinges as indicated in your picture can now be made concentric. There is still no circular movement around the bolts that attach the legs to the apex joint. Is there a way to define that two parts should always move together.... This is what I see as the...

    Real world v SolidWorks

p.s. I know it must be the left and right hand set of holes of the front and back plates that are out of align but I should fix this problem first and irradicate all errors ....

    Real world v SolidWorks

Flores, I think you may have hit the nail on the head so to speak. I think it is definately 'Apex Cover Back Plate' that is causing the problem and apex cover front plate is derived from it by hiding / showing an extruded cut. I have modelled the back plate based on the profile of the 'Apex...

    Real world v SolidWorks

Flores, Are you saying I should be able to make those two holes concentric? I should and I can't, suggesting there is a problem. The problem must be in holes of the front back plates of the joint...... Checking it all now - v. embarassing if it is...... Charles
