    Export of co-ordinates and attributes

    extracting x,y,z coordinates for blocks is a very easy process using eattext. you can extract attribute and general block properties to an autocad table or excel spreadsheet.

    AutoCAD batch plotting

    Sheet sets are helpful for plotting large projects. but i don't remember if it became availabel in 2005 or 2006. maybe you should upgrade. it saves a lot of time.

    make sure all the intersecting lines actually intersect. if possible make a closed ployline of the area you want to hatch.

    tools>options>open and save>file save> choose 2000 will always save your files in 2000 format

    you can cut and paste a pdf into AutoCAD. If you have Adobe Acrobat you can save the pdf as a jpg and insert the jpg into AutoCAD for better resolution.

    jpegs in 2005?

    Using the render command, you can render to a file(jpg, tiff, bmp). You can also set the viewport to render and plot to a pdf driver if you have adobe acrobat, creates a nice pdf file thats printable.

    showing object as its being moved

    I'm using Acad2006. My previous set up allowed me to view the object as i was moving it or inserting it, i moved to a new machine and i can't figure out the setting to allow this again. Layer 0 is on, so its not that.
