PM for Components of Hydraulic System

ack! I got cut off! If you are running clean water-free oil, your PM program becomes nearly a run to fail mechanically. If you want to PM actuators etx, then I don't know. I test bypasses and reliefs annually.

PM for Components of Hydraulic System

For such a large system I would consider a constant "kidney" type system that would remove water and particulates.

    Flange Torque

My big thing is that if you do a bolt size specific program, your clamping force for each series flange varies greatly. 1 1/2 bolt is used on 150 300 600 and 900 (and greater) Each series flange has a diffrent bolt radius number of bolts and that makes thier clamping force on the gasket...

    Flange Torque

We are setting up a flange torquing guideline and I am having alot of trouble deciding on what to use. Basically my problem is too much information. (how odd) I have guidelines from my bolt manufacture to go to 52ksi bolt stress, and then you look at ASME PCC-1 Bolted flange joint assemblies...

    Overpressurizing of mechanical seal!!

It's possible to overpressure a mechanical seal at any of those points. Basically if at any time your pump case pressure is going to exceed the design stuffing box pressure of the mechanical seal you are using, you have a have a shot of seal failure due to excessive stuffing box pressure. If...

Sensors for detection of holes in pipeline

We regularly run Ultrasonic Smart Pigs down our mainlines that detect even small welding Flaws. Perhaps look into Magpie Systems for thier tool. You will have to check up annomalies found to your diagrams. In our stations we are starting to use Long Wave Ultrasonic sensors that can detect...
