I've experienced a couple of contamination issues on two pumps using Plan API 54 (Vacuum Resid service), one is OH3 and the other is a BB2 type pump.
I checked all the pressure trends and supply pressure doesn't seem to have dropped as to allow back flow to the seal oil tank so...

I got the Vapor Pressure from a Process Engineer I can double check with him on this. Did you consider the atm. pressure on your calculations? (maybe I'm being stupid now, in our site the atmospheric pressure is 13.8 PSI. I will review the data on the valve as you suggest.

Just curious, what is the stuffing box pressure?. I had really bad experiences with 11/52 plan applications on this service (Tandem Metal Bellows Seal).
Have you considered Plan 32 or 54?, I know it's way more expensive but at the end pay off.
