No, the fellow who is the lead engineer here has some very definite ideas as to how we use Inventor. For instance we are not allowed to use the frame generator or tube and pipe (we make many support frames and process piping) because he does not like the file structure. He only wants one project...
We were able to add folders to the project file, so that was very helpful. Thanks for your help. Those favorites are global to all users. Is there a way to save my personal folders so the file explorer is unique to me?
Thanks for the input. My feeling was that what makes 316 preferential to 304 was the higher nickel content, then this material should be fine. However, now I need to find out if it is FDA approved for food contact.
Does anyone know if AMS-4777 Nickel Alloy is compatible with a 35% peroxide solution? I have been searching but cannot find a definitive answer.
I plan on using this material in a furnace brazed assembly of several pieces of 316 stainless steel. 316 is good with peroxide so I need to verify the...
I was told that it is possible to have Inventor automatically generate a PDF file when you check in an IDW file. Is this an add on or does a macro/program need to be made? Can someone point me in the right direction. I am running Inventor/Vault 2013.
Correcting mate errors can be such a pain. The other issue that really is annoying are insert mates. They are so nice to use, but often times we will check fully constrained assemblies into Vault with no mate errors what so ever. Perfect. Then when you open the assembly from vault the next time...
Azum,
I agree with your argument/question. It is annoying to have to reselect the sketch. As you say, if I did not want to extrude it I would not have sketched it.
As it is only a locking screw for a protractor, a #6 screw is more than adequate. Use a socket head screw and press on a knurled plastic cap like these http://www.mcmaster.com/#socket-head-cap-screw-knobs/=b55z6h.
Thanks for the input. I will have to follow the link from my home as my company blocks access to the site. What I ended up doing was a kluge by adding a dimension to geometry in the view and then editing the value as well as the appearance. Actually when doing this I noticed an error in my...
Hello All,
This has been asked once before (thread790-97325)and it recieved no replies, but I thought I would ask it again as I have need for an answer as well.
The question is regarding the placement of dimensions in an enlarged detail view. Actually rather than placement it is a question of is...
I have been using the space bar to select the command, although until last Monday I never had to. Never had an issue before, at least not this particular one. We are running 2010 right now. Our IT department has had 2011 since it was released and have not installed it. 2012 will probably arrive...
I have tried what you suggested. But for example, if I enter 'M' for measure distance and cursor up and down with the arrow keys it shows 'M' and 'MI' only. So does this mean that you cannot use a combination of keystrokes that begin with the same letter? A similar occurrence is 'C' for...
EngAddict,
Thanks for your reply. Yes the shortcut does display in the lower left. I must have a duplicate, and I did alter my setup. So I will have to search for a duplicate.
Hello All,
Over the course of the last two years I have customized my Inventor installation with a variety of keyboard shortcuts. All was well. However, today some of them have ceased to function. Even though the command alias is still present for the command, the command is not executed. This...
