But it works to explode and merge annotations. That may be my best option. I will check out the macro and let you know how it works out.

I had a similar issue before, using custom cosmetic threads. I found that when I right clicked on the thread the "insert callout" would not show unless the type of thread was manually typed in as an annotation when creating the cosmetic thread. Not sure if this helps, but may add some insight...
