I am looking for a line profiler that logs amps and individual harmonic currents, preferably with the capability of downloading wirelessly. There is a company called Gridsense that has devices called LineTrackers that can be downloaded via receiver/transmitter, but they only record amps; no...
Thanks for the responses. Since my post I have downloaded power monitors at the site. They had performed some testing of compressors having them come on simultaneously. This dropped the voltage enough to cause the UPS to transfer to battery. When it did, it caused slight voltage swells after the...
I have been assisting someone with a failures of electronic boards in equipment made overseas. The equipment is rated at 110 VAC +/- 10%. Monitoring reveals the voltage to the site is well within recommended limits for 120 volt service 114-126 volts, most of the time around 121-123 volts. This...
Thanks. Finally having some luck in my searches and with your helpful suggestions.
Here is a link from the UK.

I believe they are only making the elbows RGS. PVC to rigid elbows to PVC. I believe once it gets to the riser, all the conductors will be in the riser. I will check to be sure as this is one of the initial steps in researching the idea. Thanks for all the quick responses.
I have been asked a question by a coworker at a utility about whether it better to install each phase of conductors from a distribution substation transformer in its own separate PVC conduit or to put all three phases in one conduit. Generally, we always see each phase plus the neutral in...
Does anyone have a reference for the recommended interval of maintenance and inspection of motor contactors? This would be a recommended practice or interval for inspecting the contacts for pitting and wear, etc.
thanks

No utility banks that affect this location. However I have never heard of a capacitor bank energizing transient being able to start an arc from the limits they usually hit. A typical capacitor bank energizing transient could be as low as negligible to upwards of 1.9 per unit. 1.9 per unit is...
Thanks sreid and mc5w. We thought about that foreign object getting across that point and vaporizing, but it is 1/4 the distance from the top of the cabinet, the cabinet was sealed (screwed) shut, and the only thing above that point was a couple of coils or small transformers with coils wrapped...
I have an industrial customer that suffered damage to a 200 hp Baldor 18H Vector Drive. A worker disconnected power to the system, and then about a minute later the plant tripped off. Our substation recloser control saw an OCR (breaker) alarm for min trip level of the OCR, but it didn't trip...
We had no unusual activity concerning the LTC controls, other than the voltage strip charts we retrieved from SCADA showed the typical variations in voltage prior to this event, then the xfmr voltage started looking like the blades of a hack saw; very jagged, varying by about 1.5 volts...
Our utility has a customer that co-generates to the grid with a 5 MVA coal powered steam generator. It is synchronized to the grid. Our substation (5/6.25 MVA xfmr) cannot supply the entire factory, nor can the generator, unless they shed some load.
Recently, this customer called to inform us...
