Hi everyone,
I am trying to simulate a tube bending process using abaqus. Instead of applying the bending motion directly to the bending head (tool which bends the tube) I need to apply it from a certain distance from the bending head.
I have tried attaching a rigid wire to the bending head...
Dear all,
I have run a bending simulation including a superposed torque. As you can see in Fig. 1 (excuse my quick and dirty sketching [smile]), the profile is passing through 2 feed rolls and then coming between four smaller rolls (Bending Head)which is responsible for bending and torsion. I...
Hi everyone,
I am simulating a tube bending process in Abaqus. The steel that I am using has different flow stress curves in tension and compression.
Is there any way to attribute these two curves to my material model? (preferably in Abaqus GUI)
Thanks
Hi Everyone.
The model that I am currently trying to simulate in abaqus has a material that its Young's modulus (E) is decreasing with the increasing of the engineering (total) strain. I tried to write a VUSDFLD subroutine (my model is Dynamic Explicit and since I am an absolute beginner with...
True. I have not found any way to change the Young's modulus (E) in the Abaqus GUI.
I tried to write a VUSDFLD subroutine (my model is Dynamic Explicit and since I am an absolute beginner I would like to avoid VUMAT).
I found an old thread here...
Hi Everyone. My materials Young's modulus (E) is changing with the increasing of the plastic strain.
How can I implement this behaviour in abaqus GUI (since I'm not good in scripting)?
I am trying to make a model consisting of a tube being deformed to a triangle cross section. I wanned to have a homogeneous orientation, meaning that I wanned that the first material orientation (x) to be in a same direction for all the elements (and the same thing for the second material...
Dave442, I did what u said. Here is the energy components for the whole model. http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=d03fc299-f68e-44cd-9683-ce8694429c43&file=graph.png
The three big components are: External work (ALLWK), Internal Energy (ALLIE) and Plastic dissipation (ALLPD). It...
Is it possible for total energy to be negative in abaqus simulation? For better understanding of my problem I attached the screen shot of the process.

Dear rstupplebeen,
Tnx for the answer but as I said Unfortunately that option doesn't work. It only export the tool geometry and not the part geometry.

Hi everybody,
I have done an analysis in abaqus and then I had to export the final part geometry in a CAD file. But unfortunately the abaqus add-on for direct export of the final part geometry is not working so I have to write a python script for it. There was a thread many...
