    Overall Laminate Strain in Femap

Yes thank you to SWComposites and rb1957 for the clarification. In that case to answer the OP, you would have to envelope the laminate strain results on all the plies in the model.

    Overall Laminate Strain in Femap

What do you mean "overall strain"? Do you mean of all laminate elements? I was always under the assumption that on an element basis, every ply should have the same strain.

    Fastener (beam element) Post Processing

How would you want to calculate shear stress from the given output?

Center of Pressure for a pressure distribution on a curved Surface

Did run the Nastran analysis with Force Balance request? Perhaps you could create an Interface Load - Freebody using the elements on your surface.

Geometry Editing Tool - Extend : How to stop edges imprinting onto faces

If you turn off "Update Surface" from Geometry > Curve - From Surface, then in the meshing toolbox when you extend a surface to the solid, it will not imprint the intersection onn the surface of the solid. Either way you will eventually need to do a nonmanifold add before meshing. This is just...

    FEMAP Fastener Modeling

If you can post an imagine depicting the workflow you are accustomed to I would think we can make an API for it.

    Femap API - label/text size

Try this Sub Main Dim App as femap.model Set App = feFemap() Dim v As femap.View Set v = App.feView Dim vID As Long Dim dHeight As Double Dim bBold As Boolean Dim bItal As Boolean Dim sFontName As String App.feAppGetActiveView(vID) v.Get(vID)...

    FEMAP PSD Anslysis

If you request Nastran to print the results to the f06, does it have the laminate failure indices in it? I don't think Nastran provides this because they can't be calculated by the standard means like it would in a static solution.

    Connectors problem

When you select to deform the model, by default Femap scales the actually deformation 10%. This often creates confusion when using contact because the exaggerated deformation exceeds connection bodies. So when modeling contact, it's probably best to show actually deformations instead of scaled...

    Connectors problem

I'd switch the deformed plot to actual deformation and verify if those pins are actually crossing over the sheet metal parts.

    Connectors problem

Are your pins modeled with solid elements?

Modal testing as the most efficient way to verify FEM accuracy?

Very interesting conversation here. I don't want to get off topic from the original post but I saw comment from @GregLocock and I'm just curious for learning purposes. @GregLocock could you elaborate on this? "One big thing you get from modal is the damping of each mode. That is crucial for...

    Glue failure estimation

Glue is going to be a 1:1 with displacements. If you want some of sort of compliance with the "bond" you will have to use cohesive elements. But that requires the nonlinear solvers (401/402). Perhaps some others have ways of modeling this type of thing without the advanced solvers. I am...

    FEMAP API FOR DOCUMENTING IMAGES

Where do you want the image to be copied to? Word, PowerPoint, Excel, some other program...? I would try using App.feFilePictureCopy2(....) or App.feFilePictureSave2(....) but then pasting or importing probably depends on where you want it to go.

Different displacement with compression GAP and tension GAP

From the QRG for PGAP it looks like the different stiffness comes from whether it's an open gap or closed gap. Femap exports compression stiffness as KA and tension stiffness as KB.

Different displacement with compression GAP and tension GAP

In your model with "No Gap", did you make the nodes coincident and use a coordinate system for each of the gap element's orientation?

Different displacement with compression GAP and tension GAP

Can you set the initial gap of both the compression and tension properties and then rerun. In your example model it looks like the initial gap is 0.1.
