After I place a part in an assembly and add constraints it gets flipped upside-down. I use the XZ plane, the YZ plane, and two part surfaces as the mating constraints. I've created the constraints in various order with the same result.
Can someone suggest what I am doing wrong?
MacGyver, I would like to find a product that has the wire connection with the control components packaged so that all we have to do is add a microcontroller and a 485 transceiver.
Before I meet with my design consultant about adding ethernet to our temperature control I'd like to do a little research myself. We manufacture a temperature control that has a 485 bus. I am hoping to design a tiny proprietary ethernet interface that will connect to our 485. Can you...
OK. That worked. I'll need to practice more... Thank you. But, more questions.
Now, as I sweep the profile, it leaves the corners cut out save a wall thickness - the new version is attached. I've tried multiple ways to draw this and one was using extrusions to make the return flange with...
Thank you for your response and compliments.
I reordered the sketches as you advise but still struggling with constraining the profile like I want. Can you recommend a strategy for constraining the endpoint in Sketch1 to the midpoint in Sketch2? I have not been able to make coincident point...
Inventor 2010 part file attached. Sketch1 is a profile intended to sweep along the path of Sketch2. Sketch2 is sized as the outermost edge of the sweep so I want to locate the profile corner at the bottom midpoint of the path. I cannot get coincident point constraint to work nor can I project...
Thank you for responding. You are exactly right about the radius. I had added radii to my path sketch which had a small overhang. Not sure what I did to cause it because it is a simple shape. I am a new user trying to decide if Inventor Suite 2010 is the right purchase.
Trying to use the sweep command and cannot figure out the error (below). I've created a rectangular path with radius corners. Perpendicular to it is the L-shaped profile.

Thank you. I've been retraining my brain to think like a "parametric modeler". This has been my struggle but I am finding it easier. Appreciate your references and advice about training.
Struggling with simple things like drawing, trimming, moving. Bit of an old dog when it comes to AutoCAD but as I work through the tutorials I find I need very basic skills training. For example, I can easily do a full radius in AutoCAD 2D but I am having trouble doing it in Inventor's sketch...
Having trouble understanding the projected geometry feature. Working through a 2010 tutorial - End Cap Back - and get stuck at where I select the entities to "project". The instructions ask to "Slice Graphics" then to "project". Not having any luck with it and don't quite understand what is...
