Hi, can anyone suggest me any minimum bearing reference from any code for prestressed ground beams like the one attached?
Thanks a million.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=e09fda4b-3bad-40dd-9c77-ba77ff1211c0&file=aaa.png
Things are not that complicated, its simple concrete connection, now this concrete connection has several types but it doesnt matter because once u have calculated capacities u can decide which type you choose.
the type of connection doesn't matter, its just a calculation of shear strength of concrete cast at different times, now depending upon the strength there i can choose the connection, but i am looking if someone has done such detail/calculation before so to share, as what i am confusion is; i...
it would have been much better to comeup with the example i asked for rather then suggestion.
i know the calculations and i have mine, I only need to double check with any sample or example to be sure which is why i asked but anyways, thanks for ur suggestion!
Hi,
i have designed Precast wall panel now i need to design horizontal connection of two walls, could anyone suggest me any method or example? i need to follow Eurocode.
Any Example would be great.
Regards,
I need to apply Line and point loads(vertical loads) on wall, but i dont know how to do that. if apply an element on top of wall and apply loads over it, it gives me validation error, similarly with if i define a very small beam on top of wall it gives me the similar error. i dont know how else...
@Ingenuity, its 7mm dia wire of area 38.5mm2
i have 3 wires at 27mm from bottom then one at 50 mm at bottom and them one at 75mm from bottom
these are ground beams use for flooring.
the section depth is 225mm
i think as per my understanding the stress applied is too much for this small secrion...
Please take a look of the pictures attached, these are prestressed ground beams, i used 5-7dia prestressed wires.
your comments as per ur understanding related to this failure will be appreciated...
this beam is precast concrete beam
this beam is supporting 320 HCS having wearhouse loading.
i have provided Beam end restrained by introducing insitu column and extended my beam reinforcement into column.
Now what do you guys think?
Hi,
if i have beam which is slender so basically width to depth ratio is not as specify in Code which makes it slender, which means it might have secondary effects but its still a beam, what kind of secondary effects am i dealing here with? and i am ensuring it takes torsion and making sure to...
How do you mean? when you say you have design beam as L-Beam and if you have considered L-Part as half of slab then ofc you dont need to design but i am not sure if you can do that? as in this case its quite simple u need to design beam as rectangle and design slab as simply supported thats all...
What is the difference between BS 8110-1:1997 and BS EN 1992-1-1:2004+A1:2014
can someone explain me if BS and EN are the same code? if not then what is BS EN means? every time its written together as a reference of code like one mention above?
Thanks,
@Warose, my span is 6 meters but depth is around 1.88 meters and width is 300mm now my concern is considering depth of beam do i need lateral propping?
