Normally, cbr value is determined in specific moisture content and density which ensure certain needed state which is suitable to pavement design. In other moisture contenet and density you can reach higher CBR value, when considering more swelling . CBR value is number that you decide on when...
Also check out the British Standard BS8006 which guide you through all the loading cases of the reinforced earth structure.
Also compaction requirements etc.

Using a wireline drilling rig might help on sampling relatively undisturb samples. In addition to direct shear tests one m,ay consider unconfined tests also.
I personally use LARIX by CUBUS from switzerland. The program runs in dos enviroment but have operation options from windows. It uses many methods and has good output documents.
In order to avoid damage to the reinforcement units you can use backdumping work in order to avoid as much as can straight damage. Also, a thin protection layer of sand can be lay on top of any reinforcement level in order to minimize the damage.
hello,
First we need to know the soil profile, what you are supporting and what is the foundation soil. If you have no ability to excavate because of closeness to building foundations, you might consider shoring if drilling is possible.
Bigh is correct, Also on the upper part of the reinforced mass the pressure on top of the geogrids is low and you get low resistant to pullout so never shorten your length on top.
You can look for BS8006 as a design guide for such walls, or the FHWA report 82 on the matter.
Hello to you,
As a consultant for Keystone reinforced earth retaining walls systems, i prefer to use the Fortrac geogrid which is made of polyesther and introduce high tensile resistant up to 110 Kn/m (ultimate). We use the BS 8006 as the leading code for this kind of walls, Also, the...
Hello,
As a foundation consultant for over 150 sites of telecommunication poles I can say that deflection is matter of influence on the performance of the antenna. The antena designer can and must give you the amount of deflection and or movement allowed in order to still operate within theire...
Hello,
British Standard BS8006 which is for reinforced earth retaining structures desire of at least 70% of wall hights for the length of the Geogrid. Beside, one must check for overall stability and might get longer geogrid. Also, foundation condition matter. Be sure to compact the subgrade and...
