Do you mean to measure various parts on a drawing with a scale? Usually I insert the record drawings that have been scanned to TIFF into Autocadd, then scale it up to 1:1 using the identified drawing scale. It is not very accurate and depends on the resolution of the TIFF.

Why are manhole connections not allowed (discouraged) for sanitary sewer services? A standard drawing for a lateral connection shows a "trench dam" at 10' from the connection. What does a trench dam do, and is it used when the connection is to a manhole?
