I have not noticed any difference between 2008 and 2009. When importing files there are usually one or two faces that have problems and I will have to replace a face with a surface that I have created. The boundary surface is very powerful. It gives you a lot of control.

There is not chamfer expert, but if you select one face of the block you can chamfer all four edges of that face. I'm using SW 2009. So maybe its a new feature.

I was able to create a linear pattern for the bump, but towards the edge the chamfer that you created on the "seed" bump did not work. I was able to create the bumps without the chamfer and then I chamfered after the pattern was created. I am using SW 2009 SP2.0 hopefully you can take a look...
