    Platino 3500w cutting parameters.

Look for the "Cutting Know How" some where in this thread ..it's for Amada... but if you read through "the lines" it's very similar. http://sheetmetal.me/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Cutting-know-how.pdf

    fabriwin or radan?

I use Metalsoft.... Excellent software horrible support. Not sure how they are with Amada users.(being they now own Metalsoft) I would have to agree with Footstrap if you were to go with Radan "Make sure you can still do the things you currently do" and see if you can get a usable Demo to...

Stainless steel cutting on Bystronic 4020 3kw

They said "continued cutting steel"... I assume they were cutting Steel went to a Stainless Job and came back to the steel...Then the problems started....Also sometimes A lense just goes bad and needs to be changed. This might have happened just at the wrong time. Coincidence...maybe

Stainless steel cutting on Bystronic 4020 3kw

You probably stressed the lense http://www.iiviinfrared.com/pdfs/II-VI_LSA002W_datasheet-01.pdf maybe your machine came with polarization cards to test this? I would suggest you cut .187 and up Stainless with a 7.5" not a 5"

    Dr Abe Blank

Have fun... Hope someone can answer. I have and LOVE Metalsoft...but they need a lot of work on their customer relations. Not sure if they have become any better since Amada took over. I have had many fights "Verbal abuse" from them over the years. One example (I have many if you want to hear...

Slag on bottom of .125 Aluminum

Thank you everyone for all the help. I thought with Aluminum you wanted to make sure you were always at the bottom of the material or deeper. I found that if I moved my focal point to -.100 I had much better quality.(I was at -.125). This forum is about the only place I have ever found...

Footstrap, Where did you have your focal point set, what nozzle size were you using and at what speed.

Slag on bottom of .125 Aluminum

Thanks "Lasermate" 7.5"lens from (IIVIinfrared) and yes I have tried turning up the pressure. I think some of it may be focal position. I have moved focus into the material some (up from the bottom) and it seems to have helped a little. Going to try and mess around with it some more next week.

Slag on bottom of .125 Aluminum

Thank you "Gotsteel" That is the most information I have found about how to go about fixing problems when cutting aluminum. When I get back to cutting 1/8 (or thicker) I'll try some of the solutions I see in the file. I appreciate the information

Slag on bottom of .125 Aluminum

Thanks RPosty I can get virtually burr free on .100 thick but as soon as I go to 1/8 I have problems. I have tried to set parameters from example of my .100 settings but it doesn't seem to help. Just looking for rule of thumb for aluminum cutting in general. Some thing like the "cutting know...

Slag on bottom of .125 Aluminum

Is there a rule of thumb for aluminum cutting? I'm getting a burr "slag" on the bottom of 1/8 and thicker. I can push off the burr with my finger but would like to eliminate it. I can find tons of info on stainless Like (long sharp burr means focal point is too high. Small burr means focal...

Looking to buy a "New Laser" need some help

First and foremost I appreciate your feed back and opinions: We currently have some equipment from Strippit and I have had very little problems with their equipment. If I have had any problems they were taken care of either over the phone or a tech has come in with in a day and didn't leave...

Looking to buy a "New Laser" need some help

We are in the process of looking to purchase a "New Laser" We have looked at all the "Big guns" Such as Bystronic, Mazack, Cincinnati, Trumpf, Strippit/LVD, Prima/Finn and Amada. I think we have narrowed it down to either Strippit/LVD or Prima/Finn. My main question is about Prima...Does anyone...
