NX 8.5 PMI Section "Wire or Acorn Body" error

Hi John, I can't provide the file or a picture of it, but here's a description that might clear it up a bit. I made a revolved body and used an extrusion to subtract everything but a small circular area. This operation left two bodies, 180 degrees apart from each other. I used the "delete body"...

NX 8.5 PMI Section "Wire or Acorn Body" error

Thanks! I found it by process of elimination. Evidently the PMI section view command doesn't play well with models that use the "Delete Body" command. After modeling the surface without the command, it works just fine. I'll have to remember the Examine Geometry command for the future. Thanks...

NX 8.5 PMI Section "Wire or Acorn Body" error

All, While creating a cross-section cutting through 90 degrees (one quadrant) of an assembly, NX yields the following error message: Modeler error: wire or acorn body is unsuitable for this operation I've created similar cross-sections on other assemblies and have never gotten this error...

Modifying Datum Planes Internal to Child Features

Ref: thread561-288800 All, When a datum plane has been made internal to its child feature, is there an easy way to modify the plane parameters (Distance from a certain feature, etc.)? The only way I can find is to search through expressions and edit it there, and that method is slow if dynamic...

I am using the master model drawing concept, and the reference set was it! I had it set to Model instead of Entire Part. I can select the point now without any problems. Thanks so much for your help! -James

Unable to Select Sketch Datum Point in Drawing

All, I've created a sketch within an assembly, and the sketch only contains a point that is offset from a feature within the assembly. I want to be able to dimension to this point in the drawing. When I create the drawing of the assembly, I am unable to view or select this point when...

Add Parametric Dimension to Existing Dimension

Alto Joseph, Thanks very much! By creating associative dimensions within the model and calling them out using the dimension toolbar as you suggested, that gives me exactly what I needed. Best Regards, James NX 8.5.3.3

Add Parametric Dimension to Existing Dimension

Hi All, I am new to NX 8.5 and am learning the ropes with drafting, having come from mostly a Creo/ProE background. Is there a way in NX to insert a dimension parametrically beside an existing dimension? As an example, if an ordinate dimension is created showing the horizontal distance to a...
