    Glue, RB2 and CGAP elements

Hello, yes, you can. Yes, it makes. Does it help? [dazed] Why don't you better open at least QRG and check the differences between these elements and their abilities? It's hard to help you without basic info - what solver / analysis, expectation, purpose of simulation...

HOW TO CREATE A SINE WAVE CREATION WITH SINGLE FREQUENCY AND SINGLE AMPLITUDE

Hello, you can do it in the form of tab time vs. displacement, or you can simple define function Fields - New Field - Formula and write your function with the using of variables if you need them. Regards, Jan

How do I do an impact analysis if using velocity and weight of an item? (enforced displacement)

Hello glulambeam, your task reminded me our older example what we use for training purpose: heavy object is dropped on the transom of ladder. Weight of the object and height is known, so the velocity is known as well. The object causes large displacement of the first transom, there is...

    Distributed load and BDF

Hello, your variable load in your first picture is just in a linear dependency, there is obviously regular increment 18 of units (I don't know if you plotted force per line or pressure...). And you see in the second picture that the force is translated into bdf file for each node two times, I...

RBE2 and RBE3 vs natural frequency

Hi, this is interesting observing. I would say the same at first sight - if RBE3 is correctly defined, then it does not add any additional stiffness to the structure. And this is many times the advantage compared to RBE2. I'm thinking what case could be responding to your problem...The "magic"...

No Results The file C:\users......is not found. Please help

Hello, .f06 is one of the most important text file which can usually help you to identify what kind of error you are have and what to do... You can find it in your working directory C:\Users\TRPAULK\AppData\Local\Temp\1010531051.sim1_2\ - (BTW, it is not always the best way to work in Temp...)...

Hello, could you share your .f06 file? Regards, Jan

    Symmetry loads and RBE3

Oooops sorry I already deleted all:( But don't worry, it is simply. You have used parameters: PARAM,PRGPST,YES PARAM,POST,-1 PARAM,OGEOM,NO PARAM,AUTOSPC,YES PARAM,K6ROT,100. PARAM,GRDPNT,0 So just add PARAM,AUTOMPC,YES (you can whenever in BULK DATA) and run the job again, that's all... Just...

    Symmetry loads and RBE3

Hello, I get it, it is actually very simple - just activate parameter AUTOMPC. Have fun, Jan:)

    Symmetry loads and RBE3

Aleximos, NX Nastran uses several solvers. Different solver = different cure:-) That's why I wanted to know if you use SOL101 or SOL601. Can you share .dat file?

    Symmetry loads and RBE3

Hello Aleximos, what kind of solver do you use, SOL 101, SOL 106 etc.? If you don't use ADINA solvers (SOL 601/701), similar problems with RBE3 can be solved by using of UM sets. Please check this, it can be a solution for you. Regards, Jan With best regards, Dr. Jan Vojna Lead Engineer...

Hello again, now I a bit more understand what is the purpose of your model - you would like to simulate a crack or even crack propagation(?). And in your model already initiated crack is between AB. I guess that unrealistic stress was observed on points A and B, but nothing between, is it so...

    [img http://res.cloudinary.com/engi

Hello Holmesss, well, some more logical name of topic would be also helpful:) I understand that unrealistic stress occurred when you applied frictional contact for a part of surfaces. I do not know anything about used elements, mesh quality etc. that might be relevant as well, but if we focus...

Explain high stress spot in bolt joint with femap/NX Nastran

Hello, it is simple reason: you can't evaluate stress where is connection to RBEs (or you can but results are very unrealistic[dazed] ) RBEs are rigid elements, their stiffness is unlimited therefore they cause artificial stress peaks. Let me suggest how to proceed: Ask a question: Do I really...

Hello, can you provide Nastran deck file (.dat)? Jan

Need help on defining load cases for a Forced Freq Response Analysis

Hello VN1981, is your question still current? If I understand you correctly, you don't want to use unit load because you don't know the excitation force, and you are not sure where this force operates. The rotor is a source of excitation, is it so? Note that instead of excitation force you can...

Contact issue with paper transport (NX nastran SOL 601 129 )

Hello vandongenp, I rerun your analysis in NX 10.0.3.5 - the version can be relevant. I noticed the task was not finished to the defined final time, it stopped in 9,6s - I recommend you to check .log or/and .f06 file. Yes, although it stopped 0.4s before finish I understand your expectation...

.f06 file big size issue [MSC NASTRAN] (how to split)

Hi Abi, could you find out why your .f06 file is too large? If you are unable to open and read, then better to run just a small part of your FEM just to check. Try to focus on lines which have a lot of repetitions. Example: if you have solid element (CTETRA10, HEXA8 etc.) then you may recieve...
