I found the solution!
Make a sketch with the specific shape you need.
Go to the Mechanical Design workbench and click in Part Design
there you choose Pocket.
et voila' !
No success here, LWolf.
It sounds like an easy task, but I am not have success in doing it: draw a shape, make a surface of this shape, associate this shape to the solid and modify the thickness on this shape area (in my case reduce the thickness of the solid in that specific area).
How can it...
And how do I make this cut from the solid? I created the surface and went to the Part Design and tried to use the tool 'Remove Face'..but the surface couldn't be selected. What am I doing wrong?
I want to simulate a blend out in a delimited area in my solid in CATIA. How can I create this area and reduce the thickness only in this area and nowhere else?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks for your feedback rb1957!
Yes, indeed non circular fuselages cross sections promotes secondary effects, but the uncertainty itself is specifically about the theoretical hoop stress (P * r / t). In a circular fuselage there is no issues...r is the radius...case closed. But in a non...
We had a discussion in our group on how do the hoop stresses are calculated in a fuselage section composed of different radii (non circular shape).
Do you use the biggest radius (being conservative)?
Do you use the local radius for a given panel?
Do you use the opposite radius of the panel you...
Hello,
In a bolt group one of the bolts are oversized. How do you calculate the new bolt load?
I heard discussions about it and anyone came with a conclusion.
Some choose to go with Huth approach, some goes to (D2 / D1) and some with (D2 / D1)^2 approach.
Which one do you agree is the best...
