NX 8.5 visibility of sketch in drafting

Hi, I have NX 8.5 and I am working on a drawing where I need to insert some crosshatching to designate a keep out zone. I've created a sketch in the view I need the crosshatch, put in the geometry to define the boundaries, and crosshatched them. However when I update the view the crosshatching...

    Save failed in NX 7

Hey guys, I'm running NX7 with Teamcenter 2007 and I'm getting an error message when I save my assembly using 'Save Precise Assembly'. I get "While saving XYZ: XYZ - A duplicate file id was used" and the 'Modified' icon stays by my top level assembly. Any other edits that I've done to other...

CPU Usage with Windows 7 64 bit, NX6

So a lot of this discussion has been on multiple cores. How does NX utilize more than one processor? We, my company, have NX7 and have workstations that run Intel Xeon W3550 (quad-core 3.06 GHz with hyper-threading) or 2xIntel Xeon E5506 (quad-core 2.13GHz no hyper-threading) and I was wondering...

Are you looking for a way to do it automatically? Manual is pretty easy with selection filter.

    F8 as command button

You are able to change the keyboard bindings from where you run the report from as well (Tools->Customize...->Keyboard) I added "L" as Line, "C" as Circle, "F2" as Look at Sketch, and etc. in Sketch mode (access the above menu while in sketch and make sure "Use new shortcut in:" is set to...

Check In / Check out Teamcenter

Loading, saving, and update speeds would be effected. Depending on how NX handles information from a server (as opposed to off your hard drive) all of your processes may be slower through TeamCenter. IT at my company is currently looking into this, I'll update when I have more information.

Check In / Check out Teamcenter

OK, my guess is that it's the network. I don't know of any way (settings ect.) to speed it up outside of upgrading network speed or bringing your servers closer. Sorry, Jerry

    F8 as command button

You could try Tools->Customize...->Keyboard (at the bottom of the window next to the "Close" button) I am running NX7 so it may have changed for NX8

Check In / Check out Teamcenter

Is it 20-30 min of the status bar scrolling across NX telling you it's updating the views or are you just waiting around and checking it once in a while?

Check In / Check out Teamcenter

Chris, We use NX7 and TCe 2007.1.8.3 so it might be a little different for you but in my experience check in/check out allows you, the owner, to edit the name and some of the other properties in the dataset or Item. The way TeamCenter deals with who can edit datasets is through ownership. You...

    Basics of Point Cloud

Ok, why shouldn't I be on ver.7? Not that I have that much control over the issue (company-wide software) but if there are serious productivity problems or if 7 doesn't play well with TeamCenter it could help us move up the time table for upgrading. Thanks, Jerry

    Basics of Point Cloud

Hey all, I am relatively new to NX (6-8 months) and am using NX7. I am looking for a tutorial that could walk me through how to take a set of points and create a surface from them. I have created a test surface using two splines and through curves and created a set of points equally spaced on...
