As an update to anyone interested, my IT department solved the issue they were having with Creo 2.0 and the note issue seems to be fixed in 2.0. So anyone chasing this issue may find it to be a bug in Creo 1.0.

Thanks for your response. As a contract design house, we are at the mercy of our clients in terms of what softwares we use so supported or not, Creo 1.0 here we come!
I had a sneaking suspicion that the pen table was my way of solving the first problem but couldn't locate the default...
Hi everyone-
We are making the jump from WF 4.0 to Creo 1.0 with Creo 2.0 coming as soon as IT can correct a small issue with the license server (it's about time, right?). I copied my existing config file, start parts, and drawing templates from WF 4.0 to use as a basis for the config for Creo...
Renaming in session was my backup plan. I usually backup the model to a new folder and then copy the drawings in windows explorer to avoid brining along unused parts and assemblies. I was just hoping there would be a great way to speed up this process. I guess I forgot what icon I click on in...
Thanks for your response. I wish I could get away from this part numbering scheme but we are mostly a custom design house with this one exception and the powers that be want to keep all file names in the same format. I have proposed this before and crashed and burned.
In regards to your...
Hi-
I am working on an issue that would help improve our productivity here. We have a few assemblies that are ordered with regularity by our clients. We use a part numbering scheme in the form of XXXXX-YYY-ZZZ where XXXXX is a 5 digit project number, YYY is a three letter description or...
We currently have no file management software at all. The files are all in one folder in windows explorer. I can update most parts that are in the same folder so that eliminates the possiblity of it being a folder issue in my mind. I am in the process of vetting the restricted parameters for...
Hello all-
I am working in Pro E 4.0 and am instituting a restricted parameter list into our use of Pro E. As I update the restricted values file, I obviously need to update existing parts with the new values as well. To do so, I am using Tools > Parameters and then Tools > Update Restriction...
Hello all-
I was wondering if there is a way to write a logical test in Pro E 4.0 relations that would allow me to perform different actions based on the parameter type. For example: If a parameter called NAME_1 is a string type then it would perform one action but if NAME_1 were a real number...
To answer your question, yes I did bother to do a search before I asked the question. I didn't find any good results so I posted the question to see if anyone had any better information.

Hello all-
I was wondering if anyone has a method to make the keyboard shortcuts for the copy and paste functions work in a mapkey. I do not have the ability to use the menus (i.e. Edit>Copy) as I am trying to write a mapkey to copy and paste parameters in a repeat region on a drawing.
I am...

I thank you for your response but would like to redirect your train of thought. I'm not so much worried about the material management side of things as I am the BOM exported from ProE being accurate.
You mention some interesting points that I should clarify. With regards to the size...
I am trying to combat a problem that we have been fighting for years at my company and need some suggestions. First some background.
We are in the process of implementing an automated system in which the designer outputs the BOM in csv format and links it to a workorder. The system them...
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure it would work however because the BOM balloons pull information from only one repeat region at a time. I did come up with my own hack. I added the two columns to my repeat region and made them so small that they are nearly invisible (I also shrunk the...
I am working on updating our Pro E standards at my company to fully utilize the parametric ability of the software and have come across a small hiccup. I have created two parameters in each start part called “PID_TOP” and “PID_BOTTOM”. The intent of these string parameters is to hold the...
Hi all-
I have an interesting problem in Pro E 4.0. We have completed some GD&T training at my company and decided to do away with our titleblock tolerances (i.e. x.x = +/- 0.1, x.xx = +/- 0.02, ect) and replace it with a note that says “UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED [profile of surface callout]”...
