What Type of Foundation for Coastal Building (Seaside)?

Hi! It might be useful to check - probably by asking a local structural engineer - the type of foundation of the neighboring buildings. All about Eurocodes: www.DesignToEurocodes.com

    Stainless Steel Specification

I agree with CoryPad, Eurocode 3 already covers stainless steel. Moreover, the Steel Construction Institute (SCI) has also published a design guide about stainless steel which is really useful. It contains a lot of theoretical information as well as design examples. All about Eurocodes...

Monorail crane design - bottom flange loading

Eurocodes take into account the bottom flange loading of a beam through the expression of the critical moment for LTB (Mcr). All about Eurocodes: www.DesignToEurocodes.com

    Wind loading

Why don't you use Eurocodes (Eurocode 1 part 1-4 - EN1991 1-4)? They are easy to use, there are a lot of worked examples through internet and they are the official design standard of many European and non-European countries! All about Eurocodes: www.DesignToEurocodes.com

    Cantilever beam LTB restraint

Yes, you are right! The bottom flange of the beam is stabilised with stiff diagonal bracings (angles) that connect the beam with the roof purlins. As for your question, I am not sure... You could probably embed properly anchored steel sections in concrete slab prior curing. All about Eurocodes...

Problem of Steel Column Slenderness and Buckling at Site

Hello Alexgan! In general I agree with all the advices hokie66 gave you. The cross-section of your column is too small comparing to its length and compressive load. I also agree with what he said about structural software. They are just a useful tool only if you know how to use them and if you...

    Timber Shear Wall to Eurocode

Unfortunately, instinct, even though it is necessary, is not always enough... Check these books and Trada's website and you might find a design example! All about Eurocodes: http://www.DesignToEurocodes.com

    Cold formed steel

Yes, the span of the roof will definitely determine if a truss is needed! Which design standard do you have to use? Check this list with design examples. Some of them are for the design of basic cold-formed structural elements (beams, columns etc). All about Eurocodes...
