Hi all
Can anybody help with my question below:
If Sec 8.1.6.4.2 (Preheat or Controlled Deposition Welding Methods as Alternatives to Postweld Heat Treatment) of API 510 was followed instead of doing a PWHT for a repair on a vessel that was originally stress relieved, will it change the...
Thanks metengr.
Per UW-2, PWHT is required for vessels used for lethal services. Is steam considered lethal service? I assum the PWHT was done on the vessel at the beginning because of the thickness. If that is the case, I think we don't have to follow Note (c).
Hi all,
We are going to replace a 3" flange for a vessel (Designed to Sec VIII Div 1). The vessel was PWHT and it was used for steam service. The nozzle thinkness is 0.6". Per UCS 56 SEC VIII Div 1, PWHT is not required for thickness less than 1 1/4". Is PWHT required for this repair?
Thanks,
Thanks LittleInch.
So that means if the pressure discharge piping is close to zero, then the discharge pressure of the recip pump will be close to zero? If so, how can the discharge pressure build up at the discharge?
Hi all,
Is the suction/discharge check valve for recip and diaphram pump opened by the differencial pressure across the valve?
Will the discharge pressure be affected by the suction pressure?
Thanks,
