TIG weld on Mild Steel_WPS parameters

That's D1.1 right? By the look of your welding speed and wire size your WPS is for GTAW on all passes. The WPS your are trying to correct should at minimum record the processes. I would start at the beginning with a new WPS.

Root opening as per AWS and CWS

A prequalified WPS requires 3/4 t min.,1-1/4 t max. t being 1/8". .09375 min - .15625 max. If you are qualifying (PQR) there is no min or max.root gap As per D1.3 I have no idea of CWB.

Root opening as per AWS and CWS

Are you asking to qualify a welder or a procedure. I assume your using D1.3 since the plates are only 1/8" thick.

Straightening out my company's WPS, PQR & WQR

    So its F, V, H, OH on WPS's and it is alright to write 1F, 2F, 3F, 4F, and 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G on PQR's?

    Welding Procedure Specification

I am a bit confused, in the summer edition of IT magazine the author said a common mistake is to list the positions as 1G,2G, 3G and 4G instead of F,V,H and OH. on WPS and PQR. Under Figure 4.3(see 4.3.4) Positions of Test Plates for groove welds it lists 1G Flat, 2G Horizontal, 3G Vertical and...

welder qualifications when two methods are used

I am bidding on a pipe job which requires our welders to use GTAW as a root and FCAW as a cover. How should I qualify our welders.
