    Merge layers (insert block)

I don't think you can get there with blocks but there should be a way. What if you inserted the block 1 without the hatching into the drawing, also without hatching, and then did the hatching after the insertion? You might be able to put the hatching on block 1 on a different layer and freeze...

    Creating Layers

I don't think you can do what you want to do. However you can freeze layer 1 or layer 2. When you want to see both layers unfreeze them both.

Is anybody using the Professional version of Draftsight?

The main reason I would be interested in buying is to have more of the existing features/commands that work. My biggest problem is not being able to use osnaps like in autocad. Supposedly, there is a way to do that in Draftsight but I haven't been able to get it to work. Other people have had...

Is anybody using the Professional version of Draftsight?

I have been using Draftsight for about 6 months and have had the same problems as other people on this forum. Some of the shortcut menus don't work. Some of the command aliases don't work like they did in Autocad. I was just wondering if the professional version works better. Also, can you...

Using rectangles for architectural drawing with imperial units

You need to tell draftsight what units you want to use. Go to the Format menu and click on unit system.(it is almost at the end of the list. Once you are in the unit system menu look at the length option and click on "architectural". As far as converting a rectangle to different dimensions you...

    Adjusting esnap settings.

Yes there is a button to turn them on and off. I want to be able to adjust the distance to lines and objects before the esnap box lights up.

    Adjusting esnap settings.

I only use the endpoint esnap but it can be frustrating when I am moving or copying something and do not want to use the endpoints of anything. I would like to adjust the settings so that the esnap will only come on when the cursor is very close to the endpoint. Now the endpoint esnap will...

    Divide command?

Thanks Medeski Is the "divide" command older than the "markdivisions" command? Is the command config file something users can tweak? I use command aliases but am still getting used to Draftsight and am still trying to get the command flexibility and efficiency I had in Autocad. Rick

    Divide command?

markdivisions worked! THANKS PAL!!!! I used that command quite a bit in Autocad. I am using V1R4x64 version of Draftsight. My operating system is windows 7 and it is on a 64 bit machine. Thanks Rick

Is it Possible To Create Autonumber Command?

I thought that Autolisp won't work in Draftsight but I may be wrong. I know that Draftsight does have script capability but what you have may be too sophisticated for a script. This is somewhat off topic but Draftsight does recognize the Autocad acad.pgp file. This is a file to create aliases...

    Divide command?

Ericsonbirdman, I tried “div” but all I got was “unrecognised command” Tr1tx, I tried “Divide” but all I got was “unrecognised command” I have the free download version of Draftsight, I don't know if that makes any difference. Medesci, as Tr1tx said, "split" is like the Autocad break...

Thanks tr1ntx. Can you tell me the name of it and where it is?

    Divide command?

Is there a divide command in Draftsight? This command is in Autocad and with it a person can divide a line or arc into segments the same length.

How to use the alt key as an override key

I want to use the alt key in conjunction with other keys to toggle on and off osnaps. I know I can set osnaps to come on automatically but I would rather have a single osnap come on only when I want it to without other snaps lighting up the drawing. When I was using autcad I had a program that...
