.... GEP II?
Dry with warm N2
Purge with GCO2
You'll be flashing nearly all the LCO2 from a standard trailer tank due to their normal operating pressure. To use liquid for cooldown, the trailer tank pressure will need to reduce as much as possible (allowable by transport company), before...
Pressure in tank drops, ambient pressure builder circuit kicks in to bring pressure back up. As cryogen flows through the vap, it gets covered in ice. The amount of ice is liked to the ambient dew point, the duty of the unit and run time of the vap. Ambient vaporizers are normally rated for...
You're looking for an indirect water bath heater. I've looked previously and generally most information is empirical or CFD - you're not going to get a step by step guide on how to design on. FireCAD is commercial software which can do Fire Tube boilers in hot water only service as well.
I also get around 220 psi dP, but I was being lazy and shoved it into a process simulator for 19 mm ID copper tubing @ 89 m length.
If you go for a larger tube diameter then the dP won't be as severe (25mm ID gives 50 psi dP for same length), so you will be able to use the cylinder bank for...
@EdStainless LNG Vaporizer / forcing vaporizer / BOG warm up heater, are all names I've seen for on board LNG heat exchangers. All just different types of shell and tube.
@Jackson Morgan 30% glycol should make this fine. 30%vol of EG / water is around -16C for freezing point. It's about...
XL83NL sums it up well. UKCA is not completely mandatory at the moment, CE marking is still accepted until end of 2024. This has been delayed twice now.
Similar to PED, you can use ASME VIII Div 1 as your recognised standard but it does not have presumption of conformity with the legislation...
Look in the design manual for HTRI, section C3.4 for leakages in longitudinal baffles.
The leakage anaylsis is for single phase only.
Allowable dP is based on thickness of the longitudinal baffle. TEMA has a guideline for this (4.4.2.1), but this is for welded-in baffles. I don't see it being...
Gas Processing news had some good articles from Vopak and JFE Engineering. More compact BOG recondensers have been designed using static mixers.
Otherwise it'll be more generic info from textbooks etc. Coulson and Richardson v.6
I've see up to 200 bar from standard products.
You could also check with Cryostar or Chart Industries (Purchased LA Turbine recently).
You could probably check with the original owners (Cryogenic Industries/Nikkiso), as a lot of the employees there now are ex-AC!
Small standard tanks would be much simpler. 16 bar is not that uncommon for cryo tanks but this is considering much smaller volumes. Chart might be able to do 4 x 875 m3 tanks (they go up to 1225 m3 @ 8 bar MAWP), with the ET Series, but the design pressure may cause issues. The Klaipeda LNG...
In this case I looked up the specific conditions in Coolprop and did:
Q = m dH
180K SCFH of LIN = 5915 kg/hr
inlet spec enthalpy = -65.3 kJ/kg
outlet spec enthalpy = 272.3 kJ/kg
which gives ~ 550 kW.
In reality the inlet temperature will be dependent on the tank pressure, how recently it...
Ask CS&P the question as based on the datasheets, they supplied it.
They have the details of the vaporiser so will be able to supply the discharge question based on 240k SCFH @ 8000 psi, based on the picture suplied.
Assume the water side is the lowest flowerate -> 120 GPM @ 185 degF.
You...
This must be a nitrogen pumper. They have a standard rating of 180K SCFH / 10000 PSIg. (also 360K / 540K up to 15000 psig).
Tank -> pumps (booster / triplex) -> vaporiser.
Normally they are direct fired or direct steam vaporisers. I guess in this case it would be a compact heat exchanger...
What material is the tank? If it is carbon steel and the pressure control has been a bit suspect, then I'd worry that you'll have dipped below the MDMT...
Typically, a LCO2 tank would need to be > 9 barG at all times to avoid this.
Even with 316L (group 8 material)?
@the OP: If you have no one that is experienced in pressure vessel design, subcontract it.
Where in the UK are you based? Due to Brexit, Northern Ireland is different to the rest of the UK now.
