    NX 9 Changes Windows Theme

I checked, no compatibility issues or visualization settings checked. It still is a problem. I'm not sure which is more frustrating, the fact that Aero shuts off, or the fact that I can't figure out the problem!

    NX 9 Changes Windows Theme

No I have not. That may have to be my next step.

    NX 9 Changes Windows Theme

That did not work... Back to square 1.

    NX 9 Changes Windows Theme

Thanks! It looks like the driver may be out of date... I'm downloading now. I will let you know if this is it or not. Thanks again.

    NX 9 Changes Windows Theme

I am talking about title bar transparency of all the other applications (IE10, Outlook, Skype, PLM software, etc.). Not the transparency of the info boxes within NX. AERO effects are automatically turned off upon startup of NX9, but they still work with NX8. How do I keep AERO effects on?

    NX 9 Changes Windows Theme

I am wondering if there is a System setting or maybe an NVidia setting that could be turning off the transparency? It is still odd that NX8 works and NX9 doesn't...

    NX 9 Changes Windows Theme

Yes, As I said, I have followed that step to ensure that "Enable Transparency" is set on. It has no effect on any of the windows. It does not enable or disable any window transparency. That's why I am thinking it is a System setting.

    NX 9 Changes Windows Theme

I have NX9 installed but I haven't started using it yet because I hate the way it changes the theme of my whole system. I have transparency enabled in windows and the title bars are nice and dark (good eye relief for working all day). When I start NX9, the transparency shuts off, and the title...

PSC vs Capacitor Start Capacitor Run AC Motors

Thanks guys, You're right Lionel, I was not thinking about it like that. There's a lot going on and I wasn't thinking correctly! I really am thinking that the blade is at fault... I think I can draw up a good conclusion with the data I have.

PSC vs Capacitor Start Capacitor Run AC Motors

zeus - Yes I am measuring CFM, amps, CFM/W, at each static pressure point in increments of 0.05" w.g. up to about 0.3". But our fan does not reach the efficiency (CFM/W) that we would like. That's the main issue. I'm just comparing the performance of all of the motor/blade combinations to try to...

PSC vs Capacitor Start Capacitor Run AC Motors

Thanks again, John, yes SF of 1.5 is high, but these are European engineers who don't try that hard to Americanize the motors that we sell here in the State.... Part of why I'm having this discussion. If you ask the engineer over there, he will tell you that it is a 1.5HP motor, but we sell it...

PSC vs Capacitor Start Capacitor Run AC Motors

The problem is they have never designed a CSCR motor, so they wouldn't be able to tell me the difference. I'm more curious about the experimental implications of making a PSC motor into a CSCR motor... is this a flawed method? I don't need to know too much about the slip, but I do assume that...

PSC vs Capacitor Start Capacitor Run AC Motors

OK then, here's the next question: I have a 1HP PSC motor (1.5 SF) of our own that under-performs... Is it a flawed experiment to decrease the capacitor size on it and create a manual switch with a large capacitor to simulate a CSCR motor? Will this give me a good indication of what the motor...

PSC vs Capacitor Start Capacitor Run AC Motors

I really appreciate the responses! Especially jraef for taking the time to write out that long answer. It has already been insightful! Waross: I checked out the paper and I found a table that stated PSC is typically used up to 1HP while CSCR is used from 2-15HP. I'm sure that there is a...

PSC vs Capacitor Start Capacitor Run AC Motors

I am a Mechanical Engineer, but I am the only engineer in the USA for my company, so I really need to get a better understanding of what the design differences are in the windings of the two motor types. My story may be long, but I would really appreciate any help! My company manufactures...

With NX 9.0, you can now do more to customize the appearance of the User Interface...

I have not contacted GTAC yet, but I suppose I will try that next. I tried the "Light Grey" scheme, but I like the "Classic" scheme better. The NX9 window is fine, it is just annoying that it changes all of my other windows that are open! Thanks for your help!

With NX 9.0, you can now do more to customize the appearance of the User Interface...

this is the "before picture". It's like it is allowing Windows to change my visualization preferences even though I have turned that ability off in system preferences... http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=54bf1ae8-108a-4620-9a9a-79f8c64b50b5&file=Capture1.JPG

With NX 9.0, you can now do more to customize the appearance of the User Interface...

"Enable Transparency" is checked... I have "Classic with System Font" selected because I like the darker theme (not as hard on my eyes). When opening NX9, it causes all of my other windows to change to a light blue color (IE10, explorer, other programs, etc). (See attachments)...

With NX 9.0, you can now do more to customize the appearance of the User Interface...

I just upgraded to NX9.0.3 from NX8. Whenever I start NX9, my Windows Theme changes (disables transparency and turns the windows to a light blue color. NX8 has never done this and continues not to do this to me. I already changed the system settings/performance options to "Adjust for best...
