Hello,
I'm working on a building where I need to calculate the wind load of a building. The walls are comprised of cold formed steel with gyp for shear walls.
I need to calculate the frequency of the building.
My two questions are, how can I determine whether the building is rigid or not...
There will be compression in the braces because it is not a X brace, it is in separate bays. I believe there is no impact as the loads are all accounted for in the same way whether the braces are diaganol in the same/opposite direction.
I am not sure if it impacts my foundation.
Follow up to my question, here is another screenshot of a different layout for the braces.
Thank you

Hi everyone,
I am designing a RAM model that will incorporate some brace frames. My question is is there a optimal way of laying them out for best efficiency? Please view the screenshot to get a better understanding of my question. I have 2 bays with the single brace. Should I have one of the...
Hello,
I am making a RAM model that I need to model in a CMU wall for. I read online it is more accurate to use the "other" option instead of a concrete wall. When going into the other option it asks for the properties of CMU. One of the properties is the modulus of elasticity.
The equation...
Hello,
I have a question about the R value (Thermal Resistance) in Tedds when referencing ASCE 7-05.
How do you calculate it? My Ct value is 1.00 but i dont see a way to calculate thermal resistance which is defaulted at 30 in Tedds.
Sorry if my formatting isnt correct this is my first post...
