Hi,
I am currently doing a project in which I have to translate results from the Abaqus Explicit odb file to Matlab, which I do through a python file.
In order for the python file correctly read the results from the odb file, the output requests in my Abaqus input file are:

Regarding the process of defining a layup in Abaqus, I have a question. If I have, let's say, a geometric SHELL rectangular prism with a base of 200x100 mm and lenght 300 mm, and then define a layup of 5 plies, each with 1 mm thick, with offset=0 in all walls, how will Abaqus do this?
Will it...
I am using CZone 2016 add-on, which requires surface-to-surface contact. How do I know which side is the correct one in this case? Since the rigid barrier is perpendicular to all of the box faces I don't know which one should I choose
n a crash contact such as this one, where the rigid barrier is the master and the 4 box faces are the slaves, what is the difference between choosing one side of each of the box faces or the other? I mean, does it matter if I choose the exterior side of the box surfaces or the interior...
I am modelling a crash where a rigid plate comes from above a box made of brittle material (composite). I am using CZONE add-on and Tsai-Wu failure criterion to model and my material has these characteristics:
*Material, name=CFRP
*Density
1750.,
*Elastic, dependencies=1, type=LAMINA
7.1e+10...
Mustaine3 thank you for your response. Yes, I want the the rigid wall to be the master - I called it ImpactPlate. The walls you see there are the walls of the box that is being crushed. So unfortunately that's not the error...
I am currently modelling a composite structure (shell elements) impact against a rigid barrier (rigid elements) with Abaqus 2016, using the add-on CZONE.
CZone add-on in Abaqus 2016 forces the user to use a contact pair interaction (surface-to-surface), rather than a much easier general...
