Ah, I wish it wa so easy....you have to take part of the cooling system apart to get at the camshafts. I imagine I could temporarily rig something up but I'm not that curious.
I was mostly after some good discussion about what might be happening (which I got)
I'll adjust them as recommended...
Thanks for the responses.
If it helps, the specific engine is a Yamaha XJ700X
700 cc DOHC, 5 valve genesis head
It utilizes the same head and valve train design as the fazer FZ family
It is a major PIA to adjust the valve lash since the engine uses a "shim under bucket" design and you need to...
I am working on a motorcycle engine and got into a discussion about how the valve clearances will change as the engine gets hot. It's on an inline 4 cylinder with 5 valve per hole. (small valves)
His claim was that the valve stem gets hot (expands) and reduces the clearance with the camshaft...
It needs to be Class 1 Div 1
The fluid shouldn't be flamable.
The primary issue is explosive vapors in the room.
BUT you make a good point that the pump motor itself is sealed. I'm not a motor guy, so excuse my ingnorance about the terminology.
The existing one has the "armature" (with power...
I'm looking for a small (1/10 HP) circulating pump, centrifugal inline if possible.
I'm looking for air driven due to the fact it needs to be XP class1 div1
Physically it needs to be TINY (about 3.5" diameter and about 5" long total)
I'm replacing a grundfos pump that was not XP.
We spoke to...
There are a number of different "sanitary" designs.
The most common that you speak of "triclamp" are interchangeable between Waukesha C-B, Alpha-laval, Jensen, (the list goes on).
Waukesha C-B also offers a "Q" line where the joint is almost identical to the "triclamp" but the flange is much...
I would say that's a pretty decent analysis.
I did an application about 3 years ago pumping some recycled gum...customer claimed it was 4,000,000 Cps....and it was the most nasty thick stuff I have worked with. The pump was turning about 8 rpm, and taking .75 gallon per rev.
As everyone else has mentioned it really depends on the application.
I currently have a problem with a customer that told me their product was about 8000 CPs, and I sized the pump and suction line accordingly. The engineer that I worked with has moved on, and the new engineer was researching...
They make specific drum unloading equipment for this exact purpose that work extremely well. It is by far easier to avoid getting air into the product from the begining than it is to remove it after you have introduced it.
The equipment is not cheap... but actually "priceless" when trying to...
I believe you need to set "paint" as the default image viewer in Windows.
Do a seach on http://www.mcadforums.com/forums/ and I'm sure you will find the answer there.
Thanks to all for the great information.
I'll post the results if we decide to go this way. It is probably more likely that we will pull the VFD temporarily and install a controller that is more predictable and matched to the heating elements. (but still use the existing wiring).
Long story, but I am working on a little R&D project that requires a immersion heater total draw of about 50 amp.
The heater will be installed where there is normally a large extrusion pump. There is a VFD wired to the pump via plug/recepticle.
Question is can I drive the immersion heater...
The file extension is .ipt
I-parts are a family of parts with similar geometry, just different dimensions. The dimensions are linked to a spreadsheet and when you place the part, the user chooses which size to place. One I-part file can have hundreds of differenct sizes and part numbers. I have...
I believe it would depend on the angle of the shafts.
Per Greg: Free body diagram.
Straight shafts would be very close to zero.
Severe angle would have significant loss while stressing the joint.
Bearing load would have similar answer.
As David said you can make it adaptive, but you can only have one instance of that subassembly adaptive in the assembly above it. AND if you have more than one of them, the others will move at the same time as the "adaptive" version moves.
I hope that makes sense!
Worse case scenerio you would...
It's available in...R10 or maybe not until R11. There are a lot of new things since R8. BUT wait until 2007 version (in beta right now) to upgrade IMO. I would guess it would be out in the spring.
