Having trouble finding 3d files to design components using the tri-clamp style sanitary fittings as used in food service. To date all I can find are links to sites closed down, or links to sites promoting various flavors of acad addins for a fee. I do not use Acad so addins are of no use to me but have translators for their files so part files are of interest to me. Help on this in any form would be appreciated. Cutter

What CAD system are you using?

I have many Inventor based parts, but they are i-parts and would take a lot of effort to generate generic parts.

Mike, I am using VX CadCam. It does however have a number of translators. What is the file extension for Inventor? Also, can these be exported in other formats, Iges or DXF for instance? I would say that between what I have and a friend of mine that has a seat of Transmagic it should be no problem to open anything. I would be very interested in what you have as searches online have been pretty useless. Thanks, Dave

The file extension is .ipt

I-parts are a family of parts with similar geometry, just different dimensions. The dimensions are linked to a spreadsheet and when you place the part, the user chooses which size to place. One I-part file can have hundreds of differenct sizes and part numbers. I have around 30 basic iparts that contain thousands of fittings. For me to translate all of those to a generic format (like .sat) I would need to place every one of those fittings and then translate each one to a format you could use...not a small task.

Try having a look at
They have a wide range of biopharm, food etc fittings available for download (to asme BPE).

Might be worth a look.

Piping designer,
The link to Swagelock helps part of my problem as some of the parts needed were there. I had looked on the tomcat site before but had no luck finding this category. Thanks for the help,Lapuser
