    The name plate should not be a constraint, you take it off if needed and attach back on after completing the weld. Try preheating if you didn't and make sure its the correct filler material. I have a hard time believing any code would allow you to lay a weld against joint welds like that...

    What do you mean by what crosslinker? Specifically what is the name of the top coat and from what manufacturer? If the silicone is not an acrylic blend, you won't have UV or weathering protection which can result in color loss.

    TugboatEng-I have never heard or seen coating over insulation offshore. And the only case I can see coating stainless steel is when its under insulation to take extra measures in preventing CUI.

    I can't think off the top of my head if there is an acceptance criteria but I know that if 180 microns is at or above the coating thickness required for the first coat, you will have peaks of metal exposed through the first coat.
