    Soils consolidation - ABAQUS CAE

It is giving me a lot of convergence troubles the transient step, dealing with a strongly non linear simulation (a lot of contacts and large deformations)

    Soils consolidation - ABAQUS CAE

So why quasi-static? Because static is "Soils-Steady-state"?

    Soils consolidation - ABAQUS CAE

Good evening. When authors say "..the complete stance phase of gait was simulated using (quasi-static) soils consolidation analysis of the Abaqus software", which kind of Step they are referring to in ABAQUS CAE? "Soils, Steady-state"? Or "Soils-Transient consolidation?"? Ore something else?

Soils - Contact - ABAQUS CAE

From the literature references above, could you be able to suggest the kind of Steps with some relative specifications?

Soils - Contact - ABAQUS CAE

There is a lot of penetration. I have built the semplified model exactly to investigate the key points on contact and solver settings that those authors don't reveal, but it is a big challenge to me

Soils - Contact - ABAQUS CAE

I have also the more complex knee model, similar to the articles, but now I'm tring with the simplified model I attached here. The articles are: "Comparison between kinetic and kinetic-kinematic driven knee joint finite element models" "Identification of locations susceptible to osteoarthritis...

Soils - Contact - ABAQUS CAE

I'm tring to reproduce what is explained in a scientific article, in terms of material properties, mesh density and contat definition. Using general contact is helpful, but not enough. I tried automatic stabilization, but solution converged only with too high dumping

Soils - Contact - ABAQUS CAE

Yes, it is a "Knee" phantom. The two disks are the cartilages of femur (above) and tibia (below), respectively. First step (contact) is displacement controlled to reach the starting pose (presence of the force is an error), tibial cartilage moves upwards, femural cartilage downward. meniscus in...

Soils - Contact - ABAQUS CAE

Good morning, I am having a lot of troubles in converging a simulation with a lot of contacts, large deformations, permeability and soils steps. The input file is attached. If you have some suggestions, you are wellcome. In particular I'm not confident with soil steps in this context. Thank...

ABAQUS CAE SOILS NO FLUID FLOW

Thank you for your reply. I have defined BC for 6 DOF because they are displacement controlled

ABAQUS CAE SOILS NO FLUID FLOW

Good evening, how to avoid fluid flow from a surface in ABAQUS CAE?

    ABAQUS CAE UNSELECTABLE NODES

Thanks again. I have tried with partitioning, but then it gave me issues in meshing. I have tried also with reference points, but it is a long way to contrain every node to the relative reference point (I have a lot of nodes to be included in the same wire)

    ABAQUS CAE UNSELECTABLE NODES

Thank you very much. So I have a problem, because in this way I have to use an orphan mesh and I lose the advantages of working with the original geometry (e.g. Soorface Smoothing in Interaction). Correct?

    ABAQUS CAE UNSELECTABLE NODES

Good Morning. I ask you help because nodes appear as unselectable in abaqus CAE screen. In practice, I mesh a part, then I can select nodes only by Set->Create, but not in Create Wire Feature for example. Why?
