A colleague of mine told me that I need to apply load very slowly if I am using static implicit solution scheme? Do you know what he could have meant by that?
I am reading about explicit and implicit solution method in Abaqus, and for the purpose of what I am doing the paper recommended using a static implicit solution scheme. Which step would that be? Because its not gonna be dynamic explicit or implicit step? - if so which one is it, and how does...
I apply apply a load of -1500N in the vertical direction to the RP_LOAD_Point, and have to do the following:
"Extract from the ODB field output via “Create xy-data” the force/time and
displacement/time curve of the RP_Load_Point. Generate a force/displacement plot out of these curves. What does...
How is Tsai-Wu and Tsai-Hill failure criteria related to cross-product term coefficient and stress limit? And is cross-product term coefficient and stress limit somehow related to max stress and max strain failure criteria?
I had restrained displacement in all direction, which does not make it a tensile stress test. I removed displacement restriction in y and z direction and it worked, thank you for the help.
FEA way; I tried input file this way: but it gives me an error. Ive attached the steps I did, what is the right way to use an input file?
This is how it looks when I open it up:
This is what I change to:
This is the error message I get:
I ve attached the data I use, I use the data for 45 MPA...
I am trying to see if my element has correct behavior in tension and compression. I have made a one element which is encastred at one side and elongated at the other.
I get the following tension behavior:
.
Which seems okay if I compare too abaqus documentation on CDPM, besides that the force...
Its supposed to be a wind turbine - grouted joint connection. I have just started working on it, there are three components, two steel tubes and concrete inbetween. I need to model the sliding and normal contact inbetween the three componenets.
I want to fix the outer tube, but not restrict the inner tube so that it is only restricted by the coloumb friction caused by the contact with the outer tube. When I apply boundary conditions to only the outer tube the solution does not converge. I am using penalty friction formulation...
