    Native NX to Solid Edge

Hi, I have a customer who wants to use Solid Edge and I use NX. Can a native NX file be opened in Solid Edge with the tree structure and visa versa? Thanks.

    Install stand alone dongle.

Thank you, this will help Buddy.

    Install stand alone dongle.

Hi, I own NX 1904 Mach 1 and I have a dongle sentinel and a license file and the installation files. What is the best way to install NX so that it communicates with the dongle? Thanks.

    NX for architecture.

Thanks to all with the exception of ewh I like hearing these stories of how things used to be as it relates to today. I am 59 years old and learned my first cad in AutoCAD when things were 2D then Solidworks and Rhino and eventually NX with no regrets. Now it is not the seventies or eighties and...

    NX for architecture.

Follow up, I just want to understand some things. So "BIM" it seems to me is a program any of them (Revit, Archicad, NX BIM and I could go on here) specifically designed for one thing, to make buildings in context to the world and site data and documentation and everything you will need to...

    NX for architecture.

Thanks to all, it sure looks like NX BIM is in it's infant stage and not refined. I have solid modeled a two story house and in very fine details, similar to the level of details that some Rhino and even Sketchup users are able to model in there buildings but in Rhino I could probably render in...

    NX for architecture.

Kind of a bummer. So windows and doors aside because I could make those and even HVAC could be blocked in place as well as some lighting locations does NX have enough muscle to handle all the parts of a medium size residential home. I have seen large assemblies of ships done in NX. As for plot...

    NX for architecture.

Hi, I would like to know if NX is used by any architects? I learned on AutoCAD way back in the eighties and I prefer not using it in 2023. I design products and mechanical things and would like to use NX to model buildings, can it handle the amount of data? I have a fast computer and graphics...

Body transparency when opening a new sketch.

Hi, I would like to know where I can set the transparency settings so that when I open a new sketch in a part file any existing bodies would be transparent and the sketch is the main feature. I think NX can do that but I can not find where those settings are. Thanks, Buddy.

    Part file size.

I will play around with the single setting but the feature would not build with single face, something about overlapping planes. What you see is multiple. I still do not think that is going to help with the file size, But thanks. Buddy.

    Part file size.

I use remove parameters from parts all the time for a variety of reasons, it is one of my favorite commands but in this case it did not reduce the file size. Thanks, Buddy.

    Part file size.

Hi, I designed a electric guitar and I did everything in a single part file with many bodies all dumb bodies and not an assembly. Everything is fine and the file size is about 28MB in size before I put on the strings, especially the three wound bass strings that I used a helix curve and the tube...

    Bridge curve in sketch.

Yes, thanks to all, I understand I can use a spline, that is what I have been doing and it is no big deal, I am not at all saying it is big need, I just like the way bridge curve works in 3D and thought that would be a nice sketch addition. John, thanks for your explanation into the mechanics as...

    Bridge curve in sketch.

I design consumer products and also custom electric guitars and on things like an inlays or logo designs, the bridge curve is quick and easy to adjust blends. I can do it with a spline and constraints and i can create a bridge curve across two separate sketches but it would be a nice addition to...

    Bridge curve in sketch.

Hi,is there a sketch tool that is equal to bridge curve when you are in sketch mode? Thanks, Buddy.

Hide all but selected wish command.

Just one icon, hide all but selected, like Autodesk Alias, would be very useful. Buddy.

Hide all but selected wish command.

Is there a hide all but selected command, If not I would sure love one. Thanks, Buddy.

Concentric alignment in part not assembly.

Nice,I thought there was a way to make those moves. I work with dumb bodies all the time. Buddy.

Concentric alignment in part not assembly.

Yes, I would say that is the easy solution however,if you look at the original post,I want a solution for part only,I already have two "dumb" bodies. One of them was imported as a part,in the normal xyz position, and then moved with synnchronous methods coaxial and linear direction. If I were on...

Concentric alignment in part not assembly.

Thanks, All this should work decent. Is there a way to make these two same moves with the move command. If you think about it I am using synchronous methods to move an object not edit it's geometry. Thanks, Buddy.
