Bridge is switched at 10 Khz and duty cycle is varied until a specific voltage is achieved. Didn't mention this, my bad.
I noticed that voltage on dc motor coils varies with position of the rotor when the same duty cycle is applied. That's why stepper was used as static test.
So this was more of...
H Bridge is used to drive one motor coil as that ensures that motor is not moving, no Bemf and everything is static. I use a large nema 34 stepper motor for testing because it can take a lot of power. Voltage is measured on the two ends of coil wires.
Now what I'm interested in is this: Does 2x...
The plan is to have a integrated comparator and h bridge driver in 1 IC. I had a setup with lm339 for current limiting in fast decay mode. Switching frequency of the bridge at 20khz. Oscilloscope is not available so I can't really tell what happened, but the circuit was working. However to get...
What is the meaning of the rated current for servo motors?
You can drive the motor in different ways. If you leave one coil hiZ in star config then the current through other 2 coils is probably the rated current.
But what about sinusodial and field control? I guess that the largest current out...
Yea that was my line of thought as well.
They'll probably be like "Ok, this guy wants to buy alternator for 30 bucks but he will ask million questions about it". So wanted to check with you guys here first :) .
I'll be converting alternator to motor. At the backside there will be an encoder used for closed loop torque control.
There are some videos on the internet about this but they are not specific about the model of the car from where the alternator was taken. Does anyone know some models that will...
Yep, you are right.
The Dunning-Kruger curve feeling is very familiar to me. It was a lot of fun to drive a big motor at 100hz with pwm, while punching it with more than 15 amps ( Facepalm and deaf ears ). And have a mosfet die because its leg got torn off. All immediately after figuring how to...
I forgot to mention that incremental encoder will be attached to alternator somehow. In that way it will always be synchronyzed.
Btw I'm planning to make the controller myself, will just add another half bridge to the already existing h-bridge. Torque is the most important thing. There is no...
Does anyone have experience with Alternator torque when used as a motor?
They have electomagnets on their rotors. I saw different opinions. One side tells that it is worse, while the other says that greater magnetic fields can be achieved using electromagnets.
I have a DC motor from car fan...
Okay, i found the way to upload them both here
And of course, motor shaft diameter is 14 mm and the bush inner diameter would be the same.https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=e37626e5-8c2c-4362-9bd5-cdd4f60f8dbb&file=nema_34_motor.jpeg
I'm planning to buy nema 34 motor and it would be ideal if it can be attached with clamping bush. However the motor that is ideal for the project has shaft that is milled on two sides, perpendicular to one another. Picture of the documentation should be in attachment.
Now I'm wondering if...
