I'll be converting alternator to motor. At the backside there will be an encoder used for closed loop torque control.
There are some videos on the internet about this but they are not specific about the model of the car from where the alternator was taken. Does anyone know some models that will be structurally stable without the backplate (if they have any) and would not require drilling on the backside?
Even better if there is a screw hole in the shaft at the backside, just like servos and steppers.
