Damping matrix multi degrees of freedom

I have tried using rayleigh... but the matrix in position c(3,3) is not equal to -c(2,3): From chopra

Damping matrix multi degrees of freedom

I have building and forces properties: But those are not relevant... I have no displacement / acceleration. Can I use c=2*zeta*m*wn ? I want to use central difference method as in biggs book (1964)

Damping matrix multi degrees of freedom

I want to calculate "c". I have m and k. Assuming damping ratio 5%, What method to use? What are the equations? Can u show me the calculation?

Damping matrix multi degrees of freedom

Ok, i assume 5% damping ratio. What next?

Damping matrix multi degrees of freedom

Hi, In mdof I have those matrices: I have m and k, how do I find c? [ponder]https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=61fcd909-4fee-4484-bce9-984f705fc847&file=IMG_20210812_195135.jpg

Cantilever (fixed-free beam)with point load - shear deformation

Yes, I have tried. That is why I wrote this post, because I couldn't see it

Cantilever (fixed-free beam)with point load - shear deformation

Axial loads? Did u mean transverse loads? I think I asked a simple question [surprise] If this is the explanation for cantilever beam with point load at the end, so im fine and understood.

Cantilever (fixed-free beam)with point load - shear deformation

Mathematically speaking, I understand. But physically speaking, I cant see why it is right

Cantilever (fixed-free beam)with point load - shear deformation

Why for a cantilever (fixed-free beam) with a point load at the end, the cross section rotations are equivalent between a Timoshenko and Euler Bernoulli Beam?

    Finding damping coefficient MDOF

Im designing. Damping ratio for reinforced concrete is 5% (Chopra). But i ask if there is any way to determine c coefficient other than Modal Analysis. And I can assume a value, but there is a calculation for it for MDOF system?

    Finding damping coefficient MDOF

It is a reinforced concrete building, but it isnt matter, what is the formula? For SDOF, Is: But how do I find c for each floor in MDOF?

    Finding damping coefficient MDOF

Hi, For damped MDOF system, how do I find damping coefficient "c" without using Modal Analysis? I have m and k matrices. https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=ac4f33fc-a894-4671-ae50-d63b961611c0&file=IMG_20210723_091249.jpg

    Resistance mdof with damping

Hi, I want to solve MDOF with damping using Biggs book: Biggs, J. (1964). Introduction to structural dynamics [by] John M. Biggs. McGraw-Hill, New York. The book's example is undamped and the resistance is equal to the minimum of 4*m/h or k*y. But i try to figure out how to solve it and what...

    Single Element Analysis Abaqus

I know. I want to verify with single element model. I searched in the verification guide but i didnt find. Isnt matter to me which element type, only to see concrete's behavior

    Single Element Analysis Abaqus

Hi How can I model single element model to check my material properties? *What boundary conditions and load I need to assign? *There is a video but is in chinese... https://youtu.be/PO_pI3Jo-rA

    Validation for numerical modeling

But there is a difference with blast range (if the explosion is in 5m or 20m) So how do I know how to calibrate my model?

    Validation for numerical modeling

Hi, Before my study , I verified experiment of concrete slab subjected to blast with an article. I am using CDP and Concrete behavior is dependent on strain rate. In my study case I have different blast load and different concrete strength. How do I know that my numerical model is correct? I...

Concrete strain dependent - tension damage isn't correct

When only compression is left, it passes with all strain rates? I will check each tension with each strain rate. But if it wont work?
