What is the stiffness value of motorcycle chassis of around 200 cc engine capacity segments ?

I know it's kind of absurd to ask the industrial guarded secretes but I don't have choices. I have to figure out stiffness parameter ( torsional, lateral and vertical ) of motorcycle's front frame and swing arm. Does anybody know the approximate value of these parameters of 200 cc motorcycles (...

What will be the appropriate load and boundary conditions for motorcycle front frame?

You guys have any recommendation of article, tutorial, research paper or books related to motorcycle frame FEA analysis implementing inertia relief method, I would be very grateful. Its a hard time for me to do this kind of analysis without any test results and parameters. Thank you!

What will be the appropriate load and boundary conditions for motorcycle front frame?

Yes. I have used MSC adam for the Flex body MBD model and MSC Patran/Nastran for my FEA model. For my Fea model, I have imported the maximum load case but I have to apply constraints at some points in the FEA model and the problem is where and how so that it will be equivalent to my Adams model...

What will be the appropriate load and boundary conditions for motorcycle front frame?

It's just a personal interest. Not a professional motorcycle designer.

What will be the appropriate load and boundary conditions for motorcycle front frame?

I am determined to find out the stress level at front frame of motorcycle in worst case scenario. I have prepare two model. One is MBD FLEX body model and another is FEA 1_D element model. Geometry of Front Frame of motorcycle MBD FLEX Model MBD FLEX MODEL gif...

    Adams Solid to Solid contact.

I have been trying to define solid to solid contact between the rear-wheel tire of a motorcycle and the steel roller. Two bumps have been attached to the roller which rotates at about 380 rpm. The main objective of this simulation is to simulate the situation where the motorcycle is moving...

Is it necessary to define the contact between the tire and road?

I had used pac_mc_120_70R17_cross.tir and 3d_bump.rdf road in my Model in Adams view 2019 where there is no need to define contact between tire and road. But when I changed the roads to other than 3d_bump.rdf ( I tried road_3d_sine_example.rdf ), the bike fell down through roads which means...

    Chain sprocket Modelling

I am pretty interested in chain dynamics. I used Adams machinery to simulate the chain sprocket but there are a lot of parameters that I must consider. Are there any important articles, papers, or videos that might help to model chain sprockets using Adams machinery in Adams view? Thank you!

Spike on the graph of reaction force exerted by the ground on the rear wheel at the bump

Tire Stiffnes: I have used the wheel model " PAC_MC_120_70R17_cross,tir". In which, Tire vertical stiffness is written as 1.9e+05 N/m and vertical damping is 50 N/(m/s) Front fork stiffness: 35 N/mm and damping is 1.5 N-s/mm Rear shock stiffness:78 N/mm and damping is 1.5 N-s/mm Unsprung mass...

Spike on the graph of reaction force exerted by the ground on the rear wheel at the bump

AS shown in the picture above, the red curve is between 5000 N to 0 N. When I put the cursor, it shows 1400 N before the bump. The bump is at the time of 5 seconds which I have circled in the graph. At the time of the bump, the force has become zero because It is a step bump, and the rear wheel...

Spike on the graph of reaction force exerted by the ground on the rear wheel at the bump

Yes, I too agree that there is a lot of variation in the result due to a slight change in different parameters when we use to contact between road profile and wheel tire. More importantly, there is a significant fluctuation in simulating impact fore mainly. I observe it works fine at rest...

Spike on the graph of reaction force exerted by the ground on the rear wheel at the bump

Hi, I don't understand why a 10 cm bump causes a decrease in force: At rest, the ground reaction on the rear wheel is 1400 N. After moving through the 10 cm bump with a velocity of 25 km/hr, it becomes 2500 N at course steps ( less than 500 steps )which is an increase due to bump but when I...

Spike on the graph of reaction force exerted by the ground on the rear wheel at the bump

Hi, My two wheeler Adams model is subjected to run through the bump of height 10 cm approx. And I am interested in the ground reaction on the rear wheel at the bump when it moves with a velocity 25 km/hr. So I have plotted the ground reaction force on the wheel for a 6-second time span. I have...

    Adans view error message

My model in Adams views 2019 works fine most of the end times and steps but says error at the end time 1 and steps 500,700,1000,1100. My guess is that my model didn't converge or cannot solve the motion in these steps. But there may be several reasons behind this as suggested by the Message...

Pop up error message sying this not the fault of your model

I had asked in the MSC ADAMS forum as you suggest. I came to know that my bin file was corrupt due to repeated saving of bin file at the same files. So once I began to save it at a different file, it worked. Just sharing what I found! Many Many thanks!

Pop up error message sying this not the fault of your model

When the model is going to big ( in which synchronous ac motor is used), I get the error message saying that "Adams has stopped working exported. This is a fault of the software, not your model................" I don't know what is the solution to avoid it.

Issue with uniting two bodies in Adams view

Thank you for your valuable suggestion. I had made the entire model from the beginning, fortunately, I didn't encounter this very problem this time.

Issue with uniting two bodies in Adams view

I had started to create the model of chassis of the motorcycle using 'Construction Geometry marker' for the reference points and then make cylindrical member as shown in the screenshot. I had to unite multiple cylindrical members to form one solid body. So while I was uniting members, the two...
