    Flare Weld Symbol

Because I wouldn't mix standards on a drawing normally. Thanks anyway. However, I was wondering, can't my joint be classed as a fillet weld?

    Flare Weld Symbol

We use BS EN 22553 welding symbols, but this standard does not seem to have a symbol for a flare weld or a flare bevel weld (which I have seen in an AWS standard). If I have a joint where a flat surface with a radius meets a flat surface or alternatively 2 lengths of externally radiused box...

    Countersink/bore, chamfer and spotface annotation.

I will assume then that there is no equivalent ISO section to BS 308:Part 2 Section 7.9 - Chamfers, countersinks, counterbores and spotfaces. This is very hard to believe.

    Countersink/bore, chamfer and spotface annotation.

I am looking through BS 8888 and its forest of referred standards for an equivalent section to BS 308:Part 2 Section 7.9 - Chamfers, countersinks, counterbores and spotfaces. I would like direction to the correct ISO standard if possible. I wish to know the ISO method of annotation of these...

    Aluminium Rectangular Hollow Section

I have been searching for a supplier of Aluminium Rectangular Hollow Section of size 40 x 25 x 2 mm with external corner radii of 2 or 3 mm. This external radius is important as a cosmetic/aesthetic feature in a design of a trolley. Sharper corners will not do. Most British suppliers only...

    Drawing Symbols for Bonding/Adhesive

Could anyone tell me if there are Drawing Symbol standards for bonding/gluing etc., as there are for Welding and brazing. We often produce assembly drawings which require parts to be bonded or semi-permanently locked together by adhesives such as super glue, Loctite, etc. It would be useful to...

Middle Button Menu to Include Open Drawings

You're getting closer, but as this gives only the current drawing it's fairly useless. Maybe its an ActiveX thing.

Middle Button Menu to Include Open Drawings

No that shows Drawing History not currently open drawings as in the Window pull-down menu. Thanks anyway - looks like we're beaten!

    Drafting Standards

You should be advised to use whichever case is called for in your company's standards or the international standards they recommend. If you do not have a standard to work to then it must be common sense to use lower case for the reasons mentioned in the above 2 replies. UPPER CASE if your...

Upright Geo Tol symbols v. Oblique lettering

Re: AutoCAD 2000 TOL command, which presents you with a Geometrical Tolerance window to fill in with your Symbol, Tol value and Datum Letter etc. If I use this method of drawing Geo Tols while using my sloping text style, it follows that the Symbol is drawn sloping to suit. This looks silly of...

    Tolerancing

While you are at it - a style tip! A space between your dimension value and the tolerance values would make the dim look clearer (space permitting). In "Dimension Style Manager > Primary Units Tab > Linear Dimension > Suffix" type a space and save the modification etc.

    Tolerancing

Found this to work on AutoCAD 2000: Assuming you have your unsightly dimension in view: "Get" your dimension (i.e. on command line type "-Dimstyle" return; return again to Restore; when asked to enter a dimension style or select dimension return again and select your...

    BS308 equavilent in ISO

Sadly, BS308, was superseded by BS 8888, which informs you of the numbers of other ISO standards. Most sections of BS308 have been replaced by separate/individual standards, and that means a lot of documents! If you can borrow a BS 8888 you should find what you want.

Middle Button Menu to Include Open Drawings

Thank you, cfee, for that very good explanation of customizing menus. But it didn't help my problem at all. My question and Thread title is specific. The ACAD.MNU file section for the "Window" pull-down reads: ***POP10 **WINDOW ID_MnWindow [&Window] ID_WINDOW_CASCADE...

Middle Button Menu to Include Open Drawings

Working on AutoCAD 2000: I have my middle button set up to show a short menu of frequently used commands. I would like to include at the bottom of this pop-up menu the list of drawings currently open in the session (the same list that appears at the bottom of the "Window" pull down...
