I think I will agree with MintJulep and hydtools that the best is to simply clean the gap and leave it empty. I would think tar is too rigid.
Thank you all for your suggestions.
I need to fill the 1" gap to isolate vibrations, reduce noise and protect the floor slab. This is an old installation, there used to some sort of elastomeric material in this gap, it has however dissapeared with the years and the gap is now full of dirt and debris. The contact material...

Itsmoked aswering your question, the storage and pressure tanks are pretty much level, being the latter seated maybe 3 ft higher.
Valvecrazy, the cycle stop valve sounds good to me, and for my pumping capacity (around 30 gpm) not very expensive. Altough...

I see,
so basically in the submersible the motor/pump are together in a housing and the whole thing goes inside the sump whereas in the wet-pit type motor and pump are separated. I would assume wet-pit tend to be used for higher capacities.
Thank you!
Hello,
can anyone explain me the difference between a wet-pit sump pump and a submersible sump pump. I have seen this difference established in an UFGS specs document but dont understand their difference.
Thank you!

Hello, I would like to know what is the max. recommended flow velocity for a 132" butterfly valve used as a water regulating valve in a dam. The water head is 125 feet.
I have looked on the AWWA standards but they only cover valves up to 72".
Thanks,
Hello, I am looking for master specifications or international regulations on Gamma ray shielding for Industrial Equipment. The Radioactive isotope is Cobalt 60 and the particular equipment is a radioactive concentration transmitter for a dredge.
Thanks,

Thanks Jay, I actually meant gallons (of solution) per hour and this is pretty much a constant figure. Probably that is too much for a solenoid pump?
Best Regards,
