is 5 valve an option?...
that audi 20v makes a pretty flat torque curve [seat of pants dyno;)]
Could u imagine a 40valve LS6?....
*drools*
But I think u'd do the Chevy guys a favor by building the 4valve LS6/LS1 heads.
Keep us posted
Thanks.
The motor has a undersquare bore stroke ratio (like .9:1 bore/stroke).
bore: 3.587" (91.1mm) (gonna bore .040")
stroke: 3.858" (98mm)
(prev mistake: 2.7L was supp to be 2.6L)
Conrods I'm not exactly sure of cause I can't find the factory specs but I used the shortest...
Those two factors more affect the piston than the con rod (even tho they do indirectly affect the rod). But nobody worries about their rods breaking from detonation (and fuel grade). They worry about burning holes in the pistons.

Hey guys. I'm building a Mitsu Starion engine (2.7Lturbo) w/ about 550hp (maybe more in the future) in mind. I don't wanna go with too large of a throttle body b/c this is for street driving and at the same time I don't wanna choke off my top end (prolly a T-72 turbo w/ 18psi; 7500rpm redline...
I think u guys did a good job collectively of analyzing the topic but alot of the 'basics' were overlooked.
I agree (to a certain extent) that there is more loading on the connecting rod when towing. The fact that the weight of the vehicle tends to resist the engine rotation thru the drivetrain...
