Converting multi-level assembly to one level?

Thanks Ferdo for your reply, I tried the script mentioned. In this script, you need to select the parts to copy and then the target product. Actually, I was looking for a more automated way that would convert a whole assembly into a one level assembly in one step and that supports component...

Improve Catia performance for Drafting (drawings)

That would exactly be my concern... especially if joined with a PLM software like Enovia. Alex Laurenceau

Improve Catia performance for Drafting (drawings)

Thank you all for your reply, Can anyone confirm that we don't need the /3GB switch in R14? I don't have a 3 or 4 Gig machine to do some tests but it would be nice to know. Eric,(Salut collegue!) can you explain some more about the BREP thing? How to activate this? Is that an R14 thing...

Improve Catia performance for Drafting (drawings)

Forfun, that might be one way but the thing is that we are connected to a database where the files are stored. Ideally, the drawing should be linked to the part with history. I was wondering if there are some little tweaks that I don’t know of that could help. I know we are not the only one...

Improve Catia performance for Drafting (drawings)

Any hints and tips on how to improve Catia performance while working in drafting for large assembly drawings? We have tried "visu mode" and "Do not load ref document" options but when we create the views, Catia loads the files anyway wich cause the computer to crash... (Memory load too high)...

    Anti-dive, anti-squat values????

Billy, on page 253 of T. Gillespie, Fundamentals of vehicle dynamics (1992 SAE). It is is written that 'F' is the height of the IC from the axle line. 'D' is the leght of the SVSA. The ratio F/D divided by H/L gives us the anmount of anti-squat. Do you define a anti-squat value otherwise...

    Anti-dive, anti-squat values????

Norm, The Viper I have studied has around 34% anti-dive but has a short wheelbase: 98.8in. On our car, the bump travel is going to be pretty short so you're right; anti-dive of 30% should be more than enough in for this long wheelbase vehicle. Thanks Alex Laurenceau

    Anti-dive, anti-squat values????

BillyShope, NormPeterson, Thank you for your response. Billy, I understand very well what you are saying. That is why I have expressed the anti-squat diagram with a percentage in the formula. The picture doesn't represent the 100% anti-squat situation! But in the formula, if I respect the...

    Anti-dive, anti-squat values????

BillyShope, I have noticed that some books use the term rise instead of lift. Since there is nothing you can do about the front of the car going up I guess it doesn't matter in our case, but I aggree with you statement. But just like you said, in the anti-squat diagram...

Okay, Here are the links for the anti-characteristics diagrams: While braking: http://www.digital3d.ca/docs/anti-dive.gif http://www.digital3d.ca/docs/anti-rise.gif While accelerating: http://www.digital3d.ca/docs/anti-squat.gif http://www.digital3d.ca/docs/anti-lift.gif According to those...

    Anti-dive, anti-squat values????

Good day everyone, Thank you for your posts. On Monday I will try to put up on the web a few diagrams that shows how (according to my understanding and what you told me) to calculate the percentage of anti-squat and anti-dive for a rear wheel drive fully independent suspension. We can...

    Anti-dive, anti-squat values????

Thank you NormPeterson for your reply, I was wondering about what you said, so I've made some research. This is what I have found: Take the ratio of the CG height from the axle and divide it by the wheelbase. To achieve maximum anti-squat* on a IRS you must obtain the same ratio by taking...

    Anti-dive, anti-squat values????

Good day everyone, I have included a graphic image for better understanding my questions. http://www.digital3d.ca/docs/antidive.gif Here are a few questions and I appreciate any answer or inputs. Thanks in advance… - Before going further, and according to my understanding of anti-dive, is my...

    Sketcher Dialog box message

I believe that you are looking for the icons in the “sketcher tools” toolbar. Next to construction/standard, there are to other ones: Geometrical constraints, dimensional constraints. (Go to view/toolbars/tools if you don’t see this toolbar) If the Geometrical constraints icon is not on, the...

    Circular pattern in Assembly.

Normally we re-use an exiting pattern in order to create a pattern in a assembly. The pattern (circular, rectangular or user), must be included in one of the parts that you are going to insert in your assembly. If you are talking about new features, well, I’ve checked for you the documentation...

    Catsettings files

Hello Ninpoikan, You have to find the directory of your settings first. It can be local or on the network, depending how Catia was setup. You can go to the Catia tools in the window menu and chose the environment editor to find this information. Here is a typical installation path example...

    V5 Drawing custom sheet size

Hello everyone, I would like to create a sheet of 36inx100in for our drawings. Does anybody know how to define custom sheet size in the drafting workbench? I tried running in admin mode and access the XML standards but I don't seem to find any parameter for the sheet size. Thanks in advance...
