Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can assist me? If I have a surface and have modelled half (a car bonnet for example) and I want to mirror the other half, how can I ensure the 2 halves are in curvature (G2). I was told that some other CAD packages allow you to put an implied mirror constraint...
Hi all,
I've read through the posts I can find on material creation in NX (7.5) and they indicate that I should be modifying the XML file. However, shouldn't I be able to create materials from within NX using the Tools - Materials - Manage Materials? Some of the documentation I've found...
I'm also getting another weird issue :( The template has attributes in like this (<W@DB_PART_DESC>) which work fine. However, when I add them to older drawings use File-Import-Part then selecting the template some of them go a bit strange (see below)
<WUGII-UGII-ANON-5.PRT@?BDR_TITLE2>
Good morning everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help with this, a drawing border template has been created and parts of it have been done using sketching. The problem is when I now go New-Drawing and select it when it appears on my screen the sketch is active.
Any thoughts appreciated.
OK thanks, is it important to keep ALL the information within the XML? For example could I remove the bits below and things still work correctly?
<PropertyData property="MatlNonlinearityType">
<Data format="integer">1</Data>
</PropertyData>
<PropertyData...
Hi all,
I've modified my parts list and saved it as a template (NX7.5) but when I then put it in as my default parts list : TCIN mode in customer defaults it is not finding it.
Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? It works if I try it in Native.
Thanks
Thanks I'll give that a try, is it not possible to create new materials to the site standard file from within NX? I only seem to be able to do that for local materials.
I'm really struggling just to add a new material to the xml file. I've tried editing it in excel but it doesn't let me save it :(
I also tried added/creating my materials within NX but it only seems to save it for me and not site.
Many thanks for the suggestions and feedback, it's good to see I'm not alone in wanting to do this :) You're absolutely correct that the model isn't an exact replication with a zero inside bend radius, this is done purely to produce a flat pattern without the additional material where a minimum...
THAT WORKS! :)
That seems to work a treat, by putting an inside rad of 0 and 0 as the neutral factor the flat pattern is not giving the additional material.
Thank you!
Thanks for the update John, I will have to try and think of a way round this, the only method that comes to mind is manually moving the 2D geometry of the pattern to suit. It's not too much of an issue when ALL the bends are minimum bend radius as I presume I can set the bend allowance formula...
Morning all,
I'm hoping someone can help me on this one. When producing sheet metal parts I dont want the flanges with a minimum bend radius to give me any additional material on the flat pattern. I can change the formula to give me this but if the part has a bend with a radius which is...
