    What is this device??

I hate when that happens, as soon as you give up and ask a question, you solve it. The cylinder is part of slide mechanism for an RV with a synchronizing cylinder. In case one of the slide cylinders binds and causes a pressure increase, this device locks the cylinder so damage to the RV can...

    What is this device??

The rectangle metal block and the 6 sided device screwed in by the port. This is on the rod side. Thanks

    What is this device??

Can anyone identify what this device is for on the end of this hydraulic cylinder? Thanks in advance Ray D

    Regenerative system

I understand more now, you can't think the rod needs to be half the diameter of the cylinder, I have to figure surface area. (duh) The cylinders I have now are 1 1/2" with a 5/8" rod, they came with the pump, so I assumed they were the right ones, ( been there before) I have a 3,000 PSI pump...

    Regenerative system

I have a regenerative type hydraulic system. It does not quite have enough power on the extension cycle, the retraction cycle is fine. Does anyone know how I can get more power on the extension cycle, or will I have to replace the cylinders with a larger diameter rod? Thanks, Ray D

    Need a stop

Thankyou, it does move very slow. Another problem solved Ray d

    Need a stop

The easiest way for my application to stop a hydraulic cylinder at the right distance ( in one direction) is to adjust the cylinder so it bottoms out. But something in the back of my mind says I should not do this. Any thoughts on this? Ray D

Synchronizing a slideout for a bus conversion

budt, thanks for the response, I thought about 2 cylinders in series after Bud's response, but having the difference in volume from going from shaft end to the blind end of the other cylinder was about 10% less oil in the second cylinder and would have made a difference of 1.5" of travel...

Synchronizing a slideout for a bus conversion

Thanks for the answer Bud, That is certainly simpler (I'm good at making things more complicated that they should be), but you are right, the two lines between cylinders will be hard maintenance. Four flow valves??? Sounds interesting, could you expand on this please. Ray2

Synchronizing a slideout for a bus conversion

I am converting a 40' Prevost bus into a motorhome, I have installed a 12' slideout (yes it was engineered)and need to install hydraulics to move it. The slideout does not touch the floor, so mechanical guides are not practical, so I want to install a hydraulic cylinder on each side. Both ends...

Too many grips after using offset

Thank you, Thank you, That worked very well and I am happy with the results. Ray2

Too many grips after using offset

Thanks for the help, I take it that you mean explode it, I tried that and it won't explode, I made another spline and it would not explode either. Dynamite must be wet! What I am doing is creating a curve with a sline, offset another line so that it makes a stripe, I then want to taper the...

Too many grips after using offset

I have a spline with three grips in the shape of a curve. When I use offset I get a line that is completely full of grips. Can I get rid of all but three of the grips, so it is like the original, fit is not an option? Thanks, Ray2

    Synchronizing Hydraulic Cylinders

danhelgerson, I like the idea, it is similar to what I had in mind, but simpler. Question, how do you keep oil in and air out of the closed loop where the piston end is connected directly to the rod end? Thanks, Ray D

    Synchronizing Hydraulic Cylinders

I also have a need for synchronizing two cylinders with 100% accuracy. I came accross this website (http://www.hwhcorp.com/ml21954.pdf)(page 20), that has a syncronizing cylinder. I don't understand how the syncronizing valve on each piston functions, though. They will not sell it to me, they...
