    Drafters per Engineers

Our engineering deptartment is made-up of engineers and detail drafters. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on what a good ratio of drafters to engineers was or what their paticular engineering department's make-up was like. Currently about half of our engineers use SolidWorks to make...

Single Pass Laser Cut Lettering on Sheetmetal Parts

Sorry, Just figured it out. Clicked off the "Normal Cut" button when I cut out the sketch containing the text, and selected the body I wanted to keep (not the body of the closed loop on the "R").

Single Pass Laser Cut Lettering on Sheetmetal Parts

I am trying to add a single pass Laser cut of a letter on a sheetmetal part. Only need a simple "L" and "R" be added on a symetric piece, so that the part can be properly formed. I have tried adding sketched text and cutting the part, but always get an error on the "R" because of the closed...

Problem with missing border text in 2007 SP 1.0

It was the video card driver. I should have thought of that myself. Thanks for slapping me out of my brain freeze.

Problem with missing border text in 2007 SP 1.0

I waited to install 2007 until SP1.0 was released. I am seeing a problem that I was wondering if anyone else has seen. Our drawing borders are missing all of the text. When I call up an existing drawing all border text is missing. When I call up a sheet format the text is shown as tiny question...

Save as PDF in SW 2006-3.01 and Acrobat Reader 5.0

Wondering if anyone else is having any kind of similar problem. We use "save as PDF" to create our archives of SolidWorks drawings. Since going to service pack 3.01, we have noticed anyone using Acrobat Reader 5.0 (and I assume any version before that) has problems reading the PDF files we...

    Editing cropped views

I have been working with cropped views and have wanted to edit them or delete the cropped view and return to the entire view. The help file said that you can right click on the view and select either "Crop View, Edit Crop" or "Crop View, Remove Crop". When I do this I do not see either one of...

    PDF from multi page drawings

This may not be the best solution, but what I do is delete the sheets that you don't want to PDF and then just do a Save as PDF. You just have to remember not to save the drawing like this or do an undo before you save.

Save as PDF drwing sheet control.

Hi all, Is there a way using "Save as PDF" to control which of the drawing sheets are converted. We use a second sheet on a drawing for our sheet metal flat patterns. When we create the PDF we do not want this sheet of the drawing included in the PDF. Thanks for the help.
