Its in a C-channel on both sides. So, its trapped in two-dimensions. It can only roll back-and-forth in the channels. Its this back-and-forth freedom that I'm having trouble with.
I thought that maybe a "remote load" would do it. I think that I'd like to create a moment between the mounts on...
Hey All,
I'm trying to analyze an assembly that consists of a rolling cart contained in two tracks. More specifcally, its a rectangle cart with steel wheels protruding from the sides. These wheels are captured between the flanges on two I-beams.
Maybe I can get a pic to work...
The mounts...
ARRRGHHH!!!
Please help me learn how to do a Variable Section Sweep--> Pivot Dir sweep as in 2001. I see a drop down option for "Constant Normal Direction" in the Variable Section Sweep feature, but I can't seem to get the sketcher to open.
In 2001, all you needed was a trajectory and a normal...
Thanks All!
Sergi, your method is different from what I had tried and seems like it will work. I have always used my datum on the fly as my sketching plane and just make it at an angle 0 degrees from an existing plane. However, with my method you cannot tie your sketch into any existing...
Searching the archives I found a helpful thread about creating a radial pattern of gear teeth, but it hasn't quite solved my problem.
I am trying to radially pattern a cut which was made on the inner diameter of a cylinder. Creating the cut I made a datum on the fly through the axis of the...
Recneps, I think surfaces would work well.
I'll sweep a circular x-section over a datum curve. This is just like using the "pipe" function, except you have to use a few more keystrokes. Then I can merge the surfaces to get rid of the extra material.
Thanks!
Hi all,
I was wondering what the common method is for modeling a tubular frame, ie. a rollcage in a car.
I have been working with the "pipe" protrusion option, and making nodes with datum points where the members come together. This works good, but problems arise when there is a...
There are a few "Best Manual" threads for beginners going, but what about manuals for more advanced operations?
I'm looking for a manual that covers the surfacing operation for Pro/E. I borrowed the PTC manual on advanced surfacing from work, but I found it not all that helpful since...
I am working with the student version of 2001. In assembly mode, 2001 never gives you the datum side option like in the older versions. I'm talking about, for example, mating two datum planes, and then choosing either the red or yellow side of the plane. Is there a way to turn this option on and...
Thanks,
I actually looked at "options" before, but it looks so different to what I'm used to I didn't recognize it. Thanks for pointing it out.
Hi Everyone,
I just started using Pro/E 2001 Student Edition and I am trying to set up preferences through the configuration file.
I don't see an "edit config" or "load config" option under Utilities. "Config.win" files show up in the working directory, but you...
Hey I was in the same situation about 3 months ago.
I just graduated with a M.E. degree and I wanted to get a design job that used Pro/E. I had only about 200 hours Pro/E experience from school and, like you said, most companies want at least 1000 hours.
I knew design was the direction I...
